I thought this may be of interest to some of you - if you haven't already heard about it. I hope discussions like these are allowed in this forum.

Piriform, the developers of CCleaner and other softwares, has been acquired by Avast.

The CEO of Piriform says:

"We are happy to join Avast and are proud that CCleaner, which is used by about 130 million people, including 15 million Android users, will become part of their product line. Avast will maintain and support CCleaner separately from its current Avast optimization portfolio and will continue to give our customers the attention and service they are accustomed to."

What do you think about this? Will you continue using CCleaner? Why/why not?

I bet that 130 million users worldwide figure is just an educated guess. It would not surprise me the number of users is higher than that. For that reason let's hope they don't want to start messing with an already great product and turn it into bloat-ware or re-configure it in such a manner that most users no longer wish to use it. Time will tell!

Regards, Ritchie...

That's sad. I don't like Avast at all.
