Scan Now Button Not Working, Says "you Can Not Scan At This Time"

Recommended Posts

The Immunet "Scan Now" button is greyed out, and clicking on it results in the following popup message:

"You Can Not Scan at This Time

The Immunet service is not running.
Please restart the service and retry."

However...

"Settings->Connector Settings->Service Status" says STARTED, and the Immunet service is actually running (I checked in the Computer Management console)

The following things made no difference (individually or in combination):

  • Restarting the service (successfully)
  • Rebooting the computer
  • Uninstalling and re-installing (worked for a day or so and then stopped again)

Other observations:

  • I get no Tray Icon notification message saying Immunet has connected to the cloud when OS boots.
  • Changing "Settings->Tray Icon Notifications->Verbose Tray Notifications" to ON makes no difference. I get no notifications of any type.
  • Despite clicking on the "Enable Debug Logging" button, "Settings->Connector Settings->Debug Logging Status" always says STOPPED
  • Clicking on the "Update Now" button shows Immunet searching for updates before reporting that the system is up to date.

Configuration:

  • Windows 10 Pro
  • Windows Defender is active
  • Immunet 5.0.2.10301
  • Immunet service 5.0.2

Hi Support,

I have a Windows 2008 R2 running on AWS and I too am having trouble making scheduled scans run and when I click the Scan Now / Full Scan buttons I get "Your scan has failed to complete. An error has occurred". I have uninstalled and re-installed the software. After re-installation I can run the scan but then never again without getting the error. I am running no other AV program.

Help if possible.

Phil

Hello Phil, before any technical assistance is rendered we must first be assured that your server is not being used in a "for profit" business or organization. Immunet 5.0 is not licensed for this. This information is included in the End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) when you first installed Immunet.

Another option would be for you to check out "Immunet's enterprise version" called AMP for Endpoints to see if that better suits your needs. For a multiple endpoint server environment I would definitely recommend AMP over Immunet!

Although not free, it's easily deployed, highly customizable, will work with your existing security software & will provided Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) compared to Immunet.  https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/security/fireamp-endpoints/index.html

Regards, Ritchie...

I have the same problem. It says: "You cannot scan at this time. Immunet service is not running. Please restart and retry."

I have done that several times. No luck. What do I do?

This can be caused by a connectivity issue. Make sure that Immunet's processes are not being blocked by your firewall or other security apps. I know with every new build of Immunet I have to create new allow rules with my firewall of choice for instance. Something to look into.

Best wishes, Ritchie...
