  1. Oh yes Ritchie, you are doing an excellent job.
  2. Are you getting paid for this job? I've been reading from your comments for some time that it frustrates you. If you don't get paid, you would quit as a moderator before it affects your health. Otherwise, it may be time to think about further training to expand your professional future. Have a nice day Frank
  3. It was not called PRO but PLUS and has not existed for years. https://web.archive.org/web/20150629232617/http://www.immunet.com/plus/a/index.html The last Immunet 7.3.0 (02.07.2030) has the same update problems on my computers and is still not using the current ClamAV engine. It is sad. Immunet was a beautiful and slim antivirus product without the ballast that other manufacturers use. If Cisco continues like this, then it would be better to end this project immediately. EOL
  4. Immunet Update does not work ClamAV is outdated Monitor Network Connections is removed from options Quarantine Behavior is removed from options No popup informations about virus detection, new updates, failed updates... i've also sent the update issue to Cisco support Two Weeks Later... no thank you, no reactions, no informations With Immunet 7.0.2 you had a really useful one and resource-saving antivirus software provided free of charge. In my opinion, the update to version 7.2.8 has made this product unusable and is now much more of a security problem. I have never seen anything like it in 30 years. Share the source code with the community, bury this project in your archives or whatever. I know it's free but it doesn't matter. Wikipedia told me how much profit you made, you also need something to make losses. I hope you do not use Immunet for this... https://blog.talosintelligence.com/2019/07/lets-destroy-democracy.html
  5. Thanks zombunny2 for your info to stop the service, i 've changed this in the scrips. It works also on W7. URL'S to check if a new version of Immunet is available. Only works if the entry is removed from the HOSTS file (update.immunet.com ). http://update.immunet.com/updates/protect/update-7.0.2-64.xml http://update.immunet.com/updates/protect/update-7.2.8-64.xml
  6. Yes, we're back to the old CPU cooling issue. The enemy of the CPU is temperature fluctuations. Cold, warm, hot ... up and down ... optimal cooling, which keeps the temperature constant at a certain value, would be the most pleasing to the CPU.
  7. I tryed Bitdefender Free, AVG Free, Panda Free, Kaspersky Free, Adaware Free, Avast Free and Sophos Free. Avast looks for me as the best, most protection of all and you can choose what modules (eMail, Web, ...) you install. Not a lot of advertising / propaganda (at the moment) The CPU Usage is low and RAM,... Ok.. all Programs need RAM but is ok. If you want to exclude some file types you have to add this exclusion in this way ?:\*.txt Don't forget to remove the check mark from Chrome when starting the setup. I have not installed the following modules; Web & Mail Shield, Software Updater (i use to many very old Apps), Browser Cleanup, WiFi inspector, ... Browser Extensions, Passwords and cleanup. Also i have installed Immunet 7.02 with Network Monitoring, ETHOS and SPERO enabled, Programm start/Install, Blocking mode and ClamAV Engine is disabled. The Folder "C:\Program Files\Immunet" i also exluded in Avast.
  8. Ok, a manual scan goes to 100% cpu usage but my temperature goes not higher as with a stress test.
  9. I try some other Free AV, no one makes me happy. I do a Rollback to Immunet version 7.02 Download Immunet 7.02: https://sourcefire-apps.s3.amazonaws.com/fireAMP/windows/ Download ClamAV X64 Portable: https://www.clamav.net/downloads#otherversions Edit host file C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts and add this line to stop download of updates: update.immunet.com # Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp. # # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows. # # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each # entry should be kept on an individual line. 10. If you have a temperature problem with 100% CPU load, then it is time to clean the fan and apply new thermal grease. Panda: Day 2, i feel not good with this, I click uninstall .
  11. Yes, i've the same Problem. Windows 7. I dont want to go to 10. And Linux... not my Favorit. I think about living without a computer... but i want also to play my games.
  12. Sorry to disappoint you, but there is no alternative to Immunet. If the ClamAV engine is activated in Immunet, it can also occupy up to a GB of memory. There are actually only inflated products for end users. Avira did a lot of damage to me in the days of XP due to poor detection (virus detected but not blocked). I don't touch that anymore. Avast installs Chrome without asking but at first Window you can disable this. ... I had AVG until it no longer supported Windows XP, I was quite happy with it and then switched to Immunet. All well-known free versions that I have tested so far work in the same way, a lot of self-promotion and nothing works without registration. I can only recommend testing different versions yourself. I cannot recommend an alternative to you at the moment. I'm currently testing Panda Free, I don't know yet. I am not yet comfortable with it, but the memory requirement has been rather low until now. I'll try Sophos and Kaspersky next days. With a purchase version I would probably choose TrendMicro (not so well known in Europe) but ist also verry inflated. But I would like to have a working immunet. I haven't had any problems with infections since Immunet. https://uk.pcmag.com/antivirus/120817/the-best-free-antivirus-protection
  13. The update problem and the outdated ClamAV is not the only thing that worries me. Does the cloud work or not, I can't check it? (0 people protected, 0 threads) I don't get pop-up information about unsuccessful or successful updates. No popup information about program updates. No popup information when a virus is found. When I scan a folder / file in the context menu in Explorer, nothing happens. I honestly don't feel like testing with Eicar anymore whether a scan is carried out or not. If Cisco is no longer interested in further developing or at least maintaining Immunet, then it would be better and safer for users and the Internet if they close https://www.immunet.com. Whatever the reasons, Cisco knows them and should also inform their "non-paying" customers about this offer. It's done for me, I'm testing others. At the moment... EOL Frank
  14. Sorry, no! Not for me. Uninstall, restart, install, update... always the same, immunet (ClamAV) cant update the databases and ClamAV is outdatet.
  15. As far as I can understand now, freshclam.exe has connection problems or a bug when downloading. At first I had the problem that the download worked but the downloaded file could not be imported. This problem does not occur with the new version. I also tried to instruct the updater in "freshclam.conf" to use uncompressed DB files. But unfortunately this entry is ignored by Immunet. It would be nice if the configuration file could be used fully, then it would be possible to create notifications with OnUpdateExecute, OnOutdatedExecute and OnErrorExecute. CompressLocalDatabase BOOL By default freshclam will keep the local databases (.cld) uncompressed to make their handling faster. With this option you can enable the compression; the change will take effect with the next database update. Default: no Source: https://www.systutorials.com/docs/linux/man/5-freshclam.conf/ Slowly I am becoming more and more convinced that ClamAV is a nice and very useful tool, but its development at Immunet has been very limited I doubt that I'm really well protected with Immunet right now. I am seriously considering switching to something else that is too bloated for me.
