Rain, Rain Go Away!

As anyone who lives in the North and South-Eastern portions of the U.S. can attest to there seems to be a never ending stream of rain showers & thunderstorms, some producing tornadoes (I'm tuned to the Weather Channel as I write this and tornadoes have already been reported in Tennessee & Mississippi) and some unfortunate fatalities in the southern states caused by destructive tornadoes and historic flooding, the majority of us in this section of the country will finally see a reprieve from the rain and storms tomorrow! I was starting to forget what the Sun looked like, lol!

Too bad Google translation

Hi Mike & Rickie,

I am living in the mountain area in Sweden bordering Norway. We have had a very cold winter with a lot of snow, but during March & April it has been a very clear weather, no snow, no rain! It seems, that the short summer up here will come earlier, than expected! So I am very happy with the weather up here in Northern Europe this springtime!

Cheers,

sweidre

It sounds like you're having a nice Spring Sweidre, that's good. Mike sorry to hear your part of the world is experiencing drought conditions. That's never a good thing. I wish I could ship some of this rain your way! We are in a flash flood watch in this area right now. The ground is so saturated that the rain just runs off. Under those conditions small creeks and streams can quickly turn into raging torrents in this area. I have a police/fire,rescue radio scanner and there were a lot of reports of trees down over roadways, power outages and people with flooded basements yesterday. I'm not far from the Allegheny River and it is running very high right now. Fortunately we have Kinzu Dam about 50 miles north of me that helps control any major flooding along the Allegheny. We were suppose to have a nice day but the weather man says we are in store for more rain today. I just heard that over 70 more people lost their lives due to tornado activity in the southern states. My heart goes out to the families that have lost their homes and loved ones due to this tumultuous Spring.
