ritchie58
Sony's Playstation network, which is primarily utilized for users to play games with other users online, was hacked last week and is still down as of this writing. Sony announced yesterday that the intruder may have stolen not just email addresses but real names, online user names, addresses, ages and login passwords of users. Sony voluntarily shut the network down to implement better security protocols after the breach. The network should be up and running in a few days according to Sony. Hi Ritchie, Many security warnings have been issued regarding visiting "file sharing sites", "play sites", "social sites" (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), & using Chat softwares (ICQ, MSN Messenger etc.). I avoid those always! It is a pity, because human beings need social communities for their mental well-being! What about membership in Forums? Immunet Forum? ritchie58
I read a newspaper article yesterday that Sony is offering, all the effected customers of their recent breach, a free one year identity theft insurance policy. A very much needed move on their part, I believe, given the scope of the amount of data that was stolen. They should have made that decision a lot sooner than they did in my opinion. Correct, but "Better later, than never", we say in Sweden! Cheers, sweidre
