False Postives - Tests + Articles

Hi,

I have just started this thread in order to publish any objective comparative tests of False Positives between different AntiMalwares!

Here is "PCSL Greater China Region False Positive Test (2011 January) PC Security Labs www.pcsecuritylabs.net "

Of this .pdf- document I have attached 3 screenshots:

Best in this test was BitDefender with 0 FPs

Worst was Coranti.

(Immunet Protect was not included in the test)

There exists a more fresh test by them, but it is not translated to English yet (only Chinese)! My browsers can translate from Chinese webpages only, not pdf-documents!

Cheers,

sweidre

Hi, here is a PDF document by PC Security Labs (China):

"PC Security Labs

www.pcsecuritylabs.net

Signatures Updated: July 4th, 2010

PCSL Official Forum: www.sectalks.com

Windows XP Professional (32-bit/SP3) Network Connection Enabled"

(Immunet Protect is not included in the test!)

Cheers,

sweidre

PS. This report for July 2010 considers "False Postives" to a certain extent only at the end of the document (table 5.5). It seems, that 2011 is the year, when "False Postives" start to really matter! DS

Hi, here is an AV-test, that partly considers "False Positives" in the term "Usability":

"Best Antivirus for Windows 7 – AV-Test 2011/Q1"

http://www.infospywa...v-test-2011-q1/

Products certified by AV-Test were 17 products:

01. BitDefender : Internet Security Suite 2011

.............

17. BullGuard: Internet Security 10.0

Products not certified by AV-Test were:

Comodo:Internet Security Premium

PC Tools: Internet Security 2011 5.0-5.3

CA: Internet Security Suite Pro 8.0

McAfee: Total Protection 2011

Cheers,

sweidre

PS. Immunet Protect was not included in the test! DS

Hi, here is an article by the AV-Test - The Independent IT-Security Institution - with tabular reports:

"AV-Test Product Review and Certification Report "

http://www.av-test.o...tifications.php

Comments:

Tab 1: 2010/Q2 - Windows 7

Tab 2: 2010/Q3 - Windows XP

Tab 3: 2010/Q4 - Windows Vista

Tab 4: 2011/Q1 - Windows 7

Tab 5: 2011/Q2 will be published at the end of July 2011!

(Immunet is not present in the reports.)

("False Postives" = "False Alerts" are considered in the last field "Usability" of the tabular reports.)

Cheers,

sweidre

Hi,

For the moment Immunet is not participating in any objective tests between Anti-Malwares regarding "False Positives", but they will come, for sure! Immunet should therefore already now adjust ETHOS engine so that no FALSE POSITIVES will be qurantined! The objective tests will soon cover also Immunet!

Cheers,

sweidre
