Clamwin Antivirus

Immunet is displaying a false positive for my antivirus. I use ClamWin Antivirus and it downloads to my temp folder when it updates. Immunet sees it as a trojen. W32.invictus to be exact. I have gone to setting and told it that the *.clamtmp is okay and I have also input clamwin as a file exclusion. However, Immunet still quarantines the file

Thanks for your reply. Your question got me thinking. so I posted a question on clamwin forum to make sure those where indeed their files. My cursory research did show that Clamwin does still use the temp directory. The problem seemed to have started when I upgrade my version of Immunet from 2.0.17.31 to 3.0.1.6112. The older version does not have the AV scan engine as an option in setting and also reports no problems with Clamwin (free version).

As a temporary fix you could put C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp into Immunet's exclusion list if you are sure that ClamWin is indeed creating these files. Perhaps a staff member can further help you. You also have the option to submit a support ticket.

When I fist paired clamwin and Immunet together. Immunet did not have an AV engine in settings. I was using Immunet as a companion to clamwin to boost security. Immunet is marked as a companion software for any virus scan that you may have installed. I use both products because I image a large amount of computers and neither product causes problems doing imaging. If the solution is simply to turn on the embeded antivirus product in Immunet and remove claimwin then yes I can do that. I would just need to know if the embeded virus scanner will cause a problem after imaging. I have found that with many virus scanners you now have to make a change to their ini file before you can image the computer.

Can you provide a link for submitting a ticket. I didn't see anything under support or contact us.

thanks

Gamecock, here is a list of other anti-virus packages that are known to have no or minimal compatibility issues with Immunet Protect Free version.

Officially Supported Anti-Virus Packages

The following anti-virus packages have been tested to work alongside Immunet Protect. Users should be able to install Immunet Protect alongside each of these packages and significantly increase their ability to detect viruses. In this case, "supported" means that Immunet will test these products in the QA environment and qualify that they co-install properly and work in tandem during normal operations without any obvious interference or resource drag. Supported products will get priority in the QA test/fix cycles and will get priority attention from Immunet Staff on the Community Forum.

Unofficially supported products

Immunet runs along side a wide breadth of other anti-virus security products. However, in some cases, this can lead to problems from time to time. These problems will generally be listed on Immunet's Known Issues List. Users who encounter any compatability issues with an Immunet product and another security product are requested to please notify Immunet Support by email.

Unofficially Supported Anti-Virus Packages

Unofficially Supported Products are products that users have indicated work for them but that have not been tested by Immunet. In some cases, Immunet has received mixed reports regarding functionality issues. Generally, Immunet advises users to use Officially Supported Products with Immunet products, in order to avoid experiencing unexpected (and unwanted) results when using products that Immunet has not yet tested and do not currently support.
