sweidre
Hi, here is an article by Lance Whitney about Security of Microsoft versions: "Report: Windows 7 almost five times more secure than XP" http://news.cnet.com...0063220-83.html The article also shows that 64-bit is more secure than 32-bit. Please, study the comments at the bottom of the article. Cheers, sweidre
ritchie58
It wasn't that long ago that 64 bit systems were all but immune to malware infections because most malware code, at that time, was written in 16 or 32 bit code which most will not work on a 64 bit system. The reason for that is there just wasn't that many 64 bit systems on the web to infect using a modified 32 bit or 64 bit virus. Now, unfortunately times have changed since there so many more people using 64 bit systems. There is malware that "specifically targets" these operating systems now. Having a 64 bit system is no guarantee that you won't get infected but it does help. Constant vigilance is the price we must pay regardless of what operating system one has! Hi Ritchie, I thought, that 64-bit should be secure a longer time. That 64-bit sytem should be targeted once was expected, but not so soon! Apple & Linux users thought also, that they lived in a secure world, but..... now all computer users can be targetted, if connected to Internet! I also doubt, that Cloud(s) ever can be secure, unless you create your own personal Cloud in your appartment! Cheers, sweidre
