3.0.2.6548 has been released and this beta is now closed. Thank you to everyone who participated. We've decided to graduate the beta to an official release, so if you've already got the beta installed you do not need to uninstall/reinstall anything - you're now using the official release version, no changes required.

Please see http://forum.immunet.com/index.php?/topic/1124-immunet-302-released/ for the 3.0.2 official release thread.

Hi everyone, the Immunet 3.0.2.6548 Public Beta 1 is now available! The installers can be found below and will work for new installations, and upgrades from all prior versions of Immunet.

Before you install please note:

-These installers may change your previously selected Immunet options and we recommend checking them after you update.

-This beta will require a full uninstalled before re-installing with an official release version.

-If you are upgrading from a previous version you're Immunet history will be reset.

Reporting Issues:

-If you have any feedback or bug reports please post them back to this thread. Make sure to include a description of the problem and/or instructions to reproduce it. Screenshots are also great, and Support Diagnostic Tool snapshots can be emailed to support@immunet.com.

New Features in 3.0.2:

*TCP Cloud Query Support

-We've upgraded our cloud servers and added a new protocol!

-On the client side this offers improved communication times when querying multiple items in a row.

-We've also added more Cloud servers to keep up with the nearly half a million new users that have installed Immunet in the past 6 months.

*Improved Database handling

-We now prune the databases so they don't get much bigger than 15MBs.

-This improves the speed of the UI and Scan agent, especially over the long term.

-Also fixes several bugs in the history pages.

*New exclusions for Avast compatibility

-We've added the necessary exclusions for Immunet to run safely in companion mode with Avast6.

*Bug fixes

-Issue where Last Updated time appeared as out of date or never updated when it was in fact up to date.

-Support for upgrading from Immunet Protect V1.x.

-Stability fixes.

-Scan agent updates to decrease disk hashing.

*Known Bugs in this release

-Last Scan time is off by 1 hour if Daylight Savings Time is enabled

-Agent -r (x2) does not regenerate local.xml (this may break Orlando's Immunet Cleanup tool)

-History displays wrong icon after quarantine restore

-History dialog slow to display Clean File History

-Update may report an error on first use - please reboot if you experience this.

Hi,

My first impression of the v.3.0.2.6548 Beta 1 is regardless of having "Scan Archive/Packed Files ON or OFF, the scan speed is significantly faster now!

Cheers,

sweidre

Impressive list of upgrades from the last version! I gotta give this beta test spin! I was very much impressed by the current 3.0.1 version too. It solved some compatibility and performance issues I was encountering with the older 3.0 version. It seems Immunet is heading in the right direction so keep up the great work guys n gals!

I had to download the installer twice before I was able to install the beta. The first time I downloaded to my (E:) Local Disk where I have a folder that I save my install packages in as a backup. I could not get the installer to work even after using Take Ownership & using Run as Administrator. So I tried a second download to my (C:) operating system drive. Downloaded to the Desktop and the installer worked just fine then. I have not seen this before with other installers that are located in my (E:) Software Downloads folder. They normally run and install with no problems from that folder.

Hi, I have a problem with this version. I think it may be a bug: the agent.exe service is disconnected from internet without any reason, when it is running some time. I have KIS 2011, and Immunet connections are allowed with firewall rules. I reinstalled the version 3.0.1.6112 again.

Greetings

Hi Chipo, I don't suppose you took a support dump before reverting to 3.0.1? If so could you send it to support@immunet.com with the subject "For RobT: 3.0.2 cloud disconnect". If not, are there any other details you can give me? Like about how long was it before you were disconnected?

I'm sorry, but I have no support dump. I have not noticed anything abnormal about the beta version to tell me the cause of connection failure. Agent.exe service disconnects randomly. This has happened to me every day since I installed it (from first day of this beta).

In Kaspersky´s firewall I have connections allowed for Immunet's service. Also, Immunet is in exclusion list from Kaspersky and KIS is in Immunet's exclusion list.

I have clamav deactivated.

Please tell me the ports and IP address ranges used by the service to check that I did not miss any connection rule. I have rules for DNS over TCP and UDP, for Web browsing (ports 80 and 443 included), UDP for port 1164 and TCP and UDP for port 32137.IP ranges: 174.129.0.0/16, 184.72.0.0/15, 75.101.128.0/24

Sorry for my poor english

Greetings

RobT, here is the info you requested: OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit SP 1. I still have the beta installer protect-en-us-3.0.2.6548-beta1-64-tcp in my (E:) drive listed as 9.67 Mb. Other than the glitch with the installer I haven't encountered any other problem so far except it took several manual updates and reboots over the course of several days to change the icon from yellow to green. You did say that was a known bug however. Also the beta remembered all my previous settings and exclusions so that was a nice surprise as I was expecting the opposite and boot up time is a little quicker too which is an added plus. For me scan times seem about the same. I did a full scan of my (C:) drive which took about 3 hours which is about normal (ClamAV enabled & Scan Archive and Packed Files on) and several flash scans as well.

Hi Chipo, I think I know why your seeing random disconnects - your ports are correct but your firewall rule for CIDR block 184.72.0.0/15 should be for 184.73.0.0/15. My guess is you were trying to connect to one of the servers on 184.73 and your firewall blocked the connection, which resulted in the disconnected status until you went back to one of the 174.129.0.0/16 servers. Could you please try making the firewall change and let me know if you still see random disconnects? If you do, please send me a support dump by clicking Start -> All Programs -> Immunet -> Support Diagnositc tool. This will create a file on your desktop called Immunet_Support_Tool_[DateTime stamp].7z - please email this file to support@immunet.com.

Hey Dallas, yes this version will upgrade you from ClamAV 2.0.18 v3. Please make sure to check your settings after update.

Thanks Richie, I haven't been able to reproduce your install failure just by installing from an E: drive, so it really sounds like you have a corrupted download - it should be 10,147,840 bytes (right click on the file and select properties to see the exact "Size").

Everyone else: thank you so much for participating in the beta, we've decided to release 3.0.2.6548 and it has gone live! If you've already installed the beta there is nothing you need to do - the 3.0.2.6548 beta has been graduated to the official 3.0.2.6548 release (i.e. the http://download.immunet.com/binaries/immunet/bin/protect-en-us-3.0.2.6548-beta1-32-tcp.exe installer is the same file as the http://download.immunet.com/binaries/immunet/bin/protect-en-us-3.0.2.6548-32-tcp.exe installer). Please see http://forum.immunet.com/index.php?/topic/1124-immunet-302-released/ for more information.

RobT, I did check that and found that the installer was indeed a few kilobytes shy of the complete download. I noticed recently that my DSL service is experiencing very brief connection outages when ever a thunderstorm rolls through the area which has been frequent lately. I got a bad download because of that I bet.
