Guest nikky
Hi, dear developers. I'm writing with concern about this: Immunet tray launch sometimes takes a while after a doubleclick. There are cases when it's almost immediate, but there are much more cases when it takes 5-8 seconds before the main window appears. Will it ever be fixed? Are there any chances for a new fix to come out soon? Thanks a lot.
ritchie58
Hello nikky, if you're not a novice when it comes to computers than I'm sure you're already aware of this, it is important for the performance of all your programs, including Immunet, and your operating system to keep junk files on your hard drive to a minimum, keep your registry defragged and cleaned and defrag your hard drive on a regular basis. These simple steps can help keep your PC running lean and mean. I have noticed that the GUI is slow to load sometimes if I have some other apps running but that's understandable. Also your CPU speed, the amount and type of RAM you have, the type of hard drive your motherboard supports and how many start up programs are running play a very big part on how fast programs load. Ritchie, look. Of course i am not a novice with PC. Moreover, i'm a security tester). And i regularly do all sorts of defrag and registry cleaning. My PC works great, with no slowdowns and bugs. The configuration is not bad for the free antivirus (6ghz CPU speed, 2GB of Ram and so on.). The thing is that other users face the same thing. Thanks for your reply. Rob.T
Hi Nickky, this behaviour is by design. We could have the Immunet window hidden and load it in the background, then it would display instantly when opened. However this would consume extra memory, and most of the time the user won't open the Immunet interface. One of Immunet's design goals is to use as light a resource footprint as possible so the decision was made not to do this. We may add an option for this in the future though. Guest nikky
RobT, thanks a lot for a detailed response). now everything's clear. With love to Immunet)...
ritchie58
I wasn't aware of that! I believe that was a wise choice to incorporate that feature into Immunet to help save on system resources. Then it's well worth the few extra seconds to load the GUI in my book. That's one of the reasons that attracted me to try Immunet in the first place, a light system footprint! Thanks for the input on that RobT.

I thought only I have this experience because my PC is outdated ,well..I think it's important for users open software UI quickly, otherwise we would think that this program is damn slow ,maybe it is also slow when threats detected. resource usage is important too, however hardware nowadays is far more powerful than years ago,I don't think this will be a big problem and preload GUI won't make obvious resource capacity I guess.
