How To Delete The Files In Quarantines ?

Hello everybody,

I am new here and a new user of Immunet. I downloaded it (the free version) today. Now it's analyzing my computer (c: and externad hard disc g: ). I use a laptop with windows7.

Now there are alreasy files in quarantine. What must I do with them ? How can I delete these files from my hard disc ?

Others questions :

- Is Immunet a free software ? I ask it because I was told it was free. But now I can read "14 jours d'essai restants" (14 trial days... ; and ... buy the version plus). And I was (and I am still) searching for a free antivirus. Unlucky... I always see an incitation to buy a full version near the free version.

- What are the differences between Immunet and ClamAV ?

Actually I will discover Linux (Ubuntu) this summer.

Thank you for your answers.

If you wish to delete quarantined files open the user interface. Then click on History. There you will find all the files that Immunet has quarantined. You have the option to delete or restore any of these files. Only restore files that you are absolutely sure are false positives. If you're not sure if a file is legitimate or malware it's best to submit them for analysis. Choosing restore will automatically move those files to the exclusion list and will no longer be scanned. It sounds like you installed the trial Plus (paid) version and not the free version. If that is the case then you can wait until your trial ends and uninstall and then reinstall the free version. A reinstall is necessary if you don't buy an activation key during that time. Just make sure you choose the free version the next time around. There is a banner on the right of the GUI to entice you to purchase the Plus version. That's normal. The ClamAV detection engine is more like a traditional anti-virus where it stores signatures on your hard drive for off-line scanning capibilties. Immunet itself is a cloud based application that requires an internet connection to the Immunet servers. With Immunet and ClamAV you get the best of both worlds. I hope this clarifies things for you. Best wishes, ritchie58...

Hi BarelyDerryQuarantined, if Immunet quarantined malware, congratulations, the program is doing it's job but if you suspect that a file or files have been quarantined that are legitimate and not genuine malware you can submit your samples by several methods.

1 - Send an email to support@immunet.com with the attached file and two summary lines.

2 - Post the file in a new debate here in the forum, in our category "False Positives". You can do your own research too. www.virustotal.com is a good web site to check out if your not sure about a particular file or program. The HijackThis scanner by Trend Micro will also give you a detailed snapshot of your system which can be submitted for analysis on several web sites including this one. Orlando is good at examining HijackThis logs here. Best wishes, Ritchie
