No-Nag User Inteface

While I'm logged in for something else, I'd like to once more post up my suggestion for a user interface devoid of the side-banner and orange pane upon a donation-based $12 payment to Immunet and providing the user with the more informative visuals of the Plus version without Tetra's local overhead.

Cheers.

Hi,

I have earlier suggested to turn Immunet FREE into Immunet BASIC by paying USD 5-10 (why not USD 12 lifetime?) to further promote product development! I hope, more people will jump on the waggon!

Cheers,

sweidre

Passed along both suggestions. I'm sure the topic must come up for Sourcefire. If I hear anything concrete I will update the thread.

Sourcefire Immunet Support

Hi kstephen,

My proposal above has been earler replied to by Immunet. I thought, it was replied to by Pedersen on a thread against spamming, saying that we must keep an Immunet FREE version, because Immunet cloud has a real big base of free users! I understand the opinion of Pedersen very well, because a big and increasing user base is necessary and really promoting the Immunet "cloud". If Immunet FREE will be turned into Immunet BASIC by paying a minor fee, I think there will be both advantages and disadvantages:

Advantages:

1. Contribution to product development

2. Reduction of spamming in the forum, because a paying member of the Immunet forum will unlikely add any spamming posts (Note, that Immunet users are not always equal to forum members!)

Disadvantage:

1. By turning the FREE version into a BASIC version, maybe some Immunet users will quit Immunet software or presumptive users will hesitate to test a non-free Immunet, resulting in a cloud not increasing so fast!

I think, that Sourcefire must consider both the pros & cons!

Cheers,

sweidre

PS. I really hope, that the ENTERPRISE edition will be a success with many paying companies as real important sources of income. Product development will benefit all versions of Immunet. DS

Personally I'm not too crazy about that right side banner that loads with the GUI for the Free users either but I don't think that's going to change any time soon or it would have already happened. I think it kind of detracts from the great looking GUI that Immunet has. That's just my opinion for what it's worth anyway.

Wow, those are some harsh words fblais! Why do you feel that is the case? Are you having any technical problems? If so that's what Support is for! They're really great at, and, "will go out of their way" to resolve problems you or anyone else might be encountering. Immunet just put out a new 3.1.8.9583 version recently so your assumption that Cisco has abandoned Immunet is completely without merrit in my view.
