ritchie58
If I click on Start > All Programs > Immunet 3.0 folder, there is no uninstall/repair option showing. Unlike fanoos however, Immunet does show up in my Programs and Features list and CCleaner's uninstaller. Was there a reason for not adding this option to the All Programs folder? Most software programs include this (sometimes a repair option is also included) in their respective All Programs folder. Or, like fanoos, am I too experiencing some sort of bug? Not having the uninstall icon under "Start > All Programs > Immunet 3.0" is on purpose. People have been known to uninstall applications accidentally that way. Several large companies, such as Microsoft, do not put the Uninstall in program groups. This is not an unusual practice.
ritchie58
Thanks for the reply Millard. You say that this is not unusual and I believe that to be true but looking at my own list of installed software it is certainly not the norm. Most programs do include the uninstall option. It is a bit of a relief to know that this is not anomalous though. Just wasn't sure.

It is a bit of a relief to know that this is not anomalous though. Just wasn't sure. Hi, In most software groups I have an uninstall.exe file. A major problem is that uninstall.exe files often get infected and thus removed by any antimalware products. A problem will arise, when I want to uninstall a software that has a missing uninstall.exe file, because the MS normal uninstall feature will not work saying: "Uninstall.exe is missing". Good solution (it works sometimes): By installing the software once more over the old one, I will get a new uninstall.exe. The MS uninstall feature works then fine, even if the new uninstall.exe was infected! Bad solution (incomplete and not recommended): Removal of the software folder, using clean up of orphan files, and using a reliable registry cleaner. Cheers, sweidre
ritchie58
Hi Sweidre, that has happened to me before. Where a uninstall file is completely missing for a program. Unfortunately I never thought of trying to reinstall the software over top of the corrupted version. That makes a lot of sense since everything would just be re-written over by the installer. I would use the not recommended way. Deleting the Program Files folder, relevant Users and All Users files and any Temp files, then meticulously go through the Registry manually deleting all associated keys and threads which is time consuming and a genuine pain in the you know what. ritchie58
To uninstall Immunet open Control Panel and select Add/Remove Programs for XP or Programs and Features for Vista or 7. Find the Immunet program from the list of installed programs and right click on it. Choose Uninstall. When asked by the uninstaller if you are going to install Immunet again click on "No." If you find the uninstaller is missing or has been corrupted and will not work I would suggest using Revo Uninstaller. It's very easy to use and works quite well at uninstalling stubborn programs. Best wishes, Ritchie...
