WacoJohn
Immunet ver. 2, 0, 11, 12 .. Windows XP SP3. Scan finds ctv.exe as a trojan. Windows Security Essentials scans this file clean. Kapersky ONLINE SCAN scans this file clean. I don't know what the file is or does . it was found on an external drive with a lot of old 'junk' files stored on it. ctv.exe 243,744 bytes Properties does NOT show a company or version .. shows only TABS titled General, Compatibility, Summary. Google on ctv.exe finds a lot of virus info on ctvxxxxx.exe .. where x is a number. Found nothing on just ctv.exe file is contained in the attached zip file. WacoJohn
The file in question is undoubtedly malware. Do not run this. Orlando Thank you both. I will delete the file. I don't remember ever noticing it on any hard drive . like it 'sneaked' on there .. but it must have been a very long time ago.
WacoJohn
I haven't deleted it YET. Instead, I sent it to Microsoft .. since Security Essentials did not catch it. I also sent it to Kapersky .. since their online scan did not catch it. Just got a reply from Microsoft. They claim it is not 'malware'. Have not heard back from Kapersky.
