cabo
Our company is considering using Immunet as an alternative. Thus far it's been a though setup, mostly because there is no MSI file, but thats another issue. While running a scan on C-drive we have observed an obscene high load on CPU. The load persists even after the scan has completed, the only was to stop it is to kill agent.exe in Task Manager. Is there any way of manipulating how much CPU the agent may use? Thanks in advance
ritchie58
Hi cabo, I don't think there is a way to change the Process Priority with agent.exe. I'm not part of the development team so I could be wrong on that. On rare occasions a few users have experienced high CPU/RAM usage caused by excessive HDD I/O after a scan as well. Try going into Settings and disable Blocking Mode. Also if you're using the Plus version try disabling the ClamAV module and see if that helps. cabo
Hello ritchie58; Thanks for the quick reply, it helped a little, now the CPU usage is around 80-90 %. We where considering periodic full scans, but due to a CPU-load this is going to be a one-time-thing.
ritchie58
That CPU usage is still pretty high. I would suggest you submit a support diagnostic report for analysis. Click on Start > All Programs > scroll down to the Immunet 3.0 folder and click on that > click on the Support Diagnostic Tool. This will create a zip file to the desktop. Upload the zip file as an email attachment. Include in the email all relevant information including what version of Immunet you're using, your OS and a copy of the screenshot you made. You could also include information about the problem with Remote Desktop and send it to support@immunet.com Regards, Ritchie...
ataraxy
Thanks for the quick reply, it helped a little, now the CPU usage is around 80-90 %. We where considering periodic full scans, but due to a CPU-load this is going to be a one-time-thing. Check out the following threads for similar problems that other people have had: - http://forum.immunet.com/index.php?/topic/1259-agentexe-causing-system-instability/ - http://forum.immunet.com/index.php?/topic/1164-immunet-302-very-high-cpu-ram-usege/ - http://forum.immunet.com/index.php?/topic/958-agentexe-constantly-writing-to-disk-after-scheduled-scan/ Unfortunately, I don't think that there are any solutions, and based on your report it looks like these problems still haven't been fixed. Del Piero
I'm also experiencing a high load on cpu when running a full scan (my system almost freezes during a scan). But also when I'm not running a full scan, but when the tetra engine is enabled, and clamav and blocking mode disabled. So I was wondering: if a virus is detected on someone else's pc (and that person runs immunet plus having tetra enabled), will a threat detected by tetra be added to the threat patterns that spero and ethos use so the immunet free users will be protected as well from that threat? If that is the case, I will consider to use only the spero and ethos engines for realtime protection and disable tetra and clam. Thanks in advance.
