Hi seamoon, both agent.exe and iptray.exe require an internet connection and if something is blocking those processes from connecting to the Immunet cloud servers you will encounter the behavior you describe. The first thing to do is put Immunet's Program Files folder in Avira's Exclusion List to avoid any conflicts there. Avira's files are already excluded by default with Immunet if you haven't deleted those exclusions. Also check your Firewall and any behavior blocking software you may be using to make sure that it's not interfering with Immunet's processes. You can also try and start Immunet manually by using the Command Prompt with Administrator privileges. Type in net stop immunetprotect, wait a few minutes, then type net start immunetprotect. If you've tried these things and you still get the same behavior I would encourage you to run the System Diagnostic Tool and send a SDT report to support@immunet.com. Include all relevant information and any screenshots you may have.

Your not even using the Windows firewall? That's not good. A firewall protects your system from unauthorized access through Data Packet Filtering (hackers) and will also protect you from some types of malware. I would urge you to turn "ON" the Windows firewall but there's the possibility that you're already infected with something and that's what's causing the problem.

I haven't use any firewall for 8 years & not got single attack. If you use Opera without java and don't execute any unknown exe (that's all a home user need I think) then you never got stolen any accounts.

To each his own I guess! Personally I wouldn't even think of connecting to the world wide web without a running firewall. To use an analogy, that's like keeping the front door to your home wide open 24/7 for anyone to wander in and do what they like! Although your methods are note worthy and very sound at preventing malware from being installed on your system that still leaves you very vulnerable to unauthorized access and other exploits such as persistent internet worms to name just one. I think you've been extraordinarily lucky thus far. Perhaps, then again, your luck ran out if it is indeed malware causing the problems with Immunet. There's plenty of expert documentation on the web extolling the virtues of using a firewall. One need only do a little research to find out for themselves.

Well there's some anti-firewall articles out there as well. When I bought my first computer I installed Zone Alarm, it keeps alerting me about prevented severe attacks each day. Then I refer to some experienced guys around and stop using it now where did those every day severe attacks go? It's not luck, there's two way your computer being attacked 1. Via web (especially if you use IE) 2. exe, msi, bat etc. Use Opera without java, use adblocker like ad muncher to prevent popups, never open suspected exe files before upload to virustotal, that's all.
