ritchie58
Malwarebytes has released it's latest version out of beta a little early, claiming the initial release would be sometime after New Year. I recommend and have used the free version of this AV for years (I've even helped beta test on occasion) as an additional on-demand malware scanning/removal engine in my anti-malware arsenal. It never hurts to get another opinion! Plus using Malwarebytes in Safe Mode can sometimes be the difference between getting rid of something particularly nasty or re-formatting your Operating System. The paid version, with it's real-time protection, also runs great with Immunet Free. Whats New: New Features: • Malwarebytes Chameleon technology gets Malwarebytes Anti-Malware running even when blocked by infection. • Incremental updates (paid version only). • Ability to password protect key program settings (paid version only). Improvements: • Improved reliability and performance of the update process. • Detection and removal engine enhancements. • System tray icon now dynamically displays selected language. • Settings for Protection Module behavior can be changed without protection being active. • Improved DOR (Delete On Reboot) technology to enhance threat removal process. • Restructured log formats to include greater detail on system information and detected threats. • Improved error messages to make them more user friendly. • Scheduled updates now occur within 15 minutes of scheduled time. • Custom log locations now displayed in Logs tab. • Protection logs can be saved in custom locations. • Program version release date now displayed on About tab. Issues Fixed: • Fix for database not updating properly on Czech installations of Microsoft Windows. • Fix for certain scenarios where scans failed to complete. brucefidalgo
I had a problem updating to this version like some others have and had to run the uninstall app mbam-clean.exe and then download MBAM again. I tried the paid version trial for a few minutes but saw that i slowed down a few MS like with most realtime scanners so i uninstalled the trial and downloaded the free again like i have been using. Not much gets by me..lol..i noticed the slowdown and will take my chances without the RT Part..
ritchie58
Hi Bruce2, on my Win 7 Ultimate 64bit machine the install went smoothly. However on my roomate's XP Pro 32bit machine I too had to uninstall the old version with Revo Uninstaller to get the new version to install properly. I kept getting a memory access error and the program wouldn't start. Usually there's no problem updating MB. Just out of curiosity what OS are you running?
