kik
Flash and fullscan work but the Rootkit scan won't start. Any suggestions.
ritchie58
Hi kik, the free version does not have rootkit scanning. If you're using the Plus version go into Settings and make sure the TETRA module is enabled. This module handles the rootkit scanning/detection aspects of Immunet. I have a plus license already with 443 days remaining. Is there a way that it will recognize the license since I had to previously uninstall and reinstall Immunet due to an update glitch. Everything else is working; scans and updates.
ritchie58
So your saying you can't log into your account with your login credentials and that the TETRA module is enabled? If that's the case then that is strange. It might be a server issue. Another user is encountering a similar problem at the moment. I'll send a private message to the Administrators and notify them that some users are having difficulties logging into their accounts.

TETRA is enabled and I have a current product license that I purchased which covers 3 computers that have 443 days remaining.
ritchie58
Ok kik, I did send some PM's so I really hope that someone on that end takes a look at the situation very soon. That's the best I can do for you at the moment.
kik
Ok kik, I did send some PM's so I really hope that someone on that end takes a look at the situation very soon. That's the best I can do for you at the moment. Sent an e-mail to Rob T the other day since he has helped me in the past and indicated that I could contact him direct, but haven't heard anything as yet. I would still like to be able to run a Rootkit scan since I have a paid plus extended registration for 3 machines.
ritchie58
Hi kik, I certainly can understand your frustration and I think you've been very patient thus far! I can't give you a reason as to why there has been no feedback from an Administrator at the forum for over a month now. We Moderators are kept in the dark about a lot of things I have learned. I did send PM's to both RobT and Millard as I stated in my earlier post. There is a hidden section of the forum that only Mods and Admins can view that allows us to communicate amongst ourselves. There, I posted a thread, a while back, stating that there are issues that need attention but this has gone unanswered as well. One option that is left to you would be to do a complete uninstall and then reinstall Immunet but I would hold off on doing that for the time being because of the issue of some users, including yourself, not being able to log into their accounts. I don't want to give you poor advice and make things worse for you but it may come down to you trying that. In the mean time you could temporally install a good, "free," dedicated rootkit scanner from Kaspersky called TDSSKiller. It has an easy to use GUI, Fast scan times, great detection rate, and is user friendly. TDSSKiller managed to detect and remove all modern rootkits tested (TDSS, Zeus, TDLV4, etc.). The only down side is TDSSKiller seems to detect some false positives which really isn't that uncommon for rootkit scanners and has crashed on my Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64 bit OS during testing. However the detection capabilities still makes this a good rootkit scanner in my opinion. Another great advantage is that TDSSKiller is compatible with 64 bit operating systems as others are not. Actually if you're using a 64 bit operating system you are significantly less likely to be infected by rootkits because almost all of them (but not all! 64 bit OS's are not 100% immune!) are written in a 16 or 32 bit binary code. That makes 32 bit OS's more susceptible to this type of infection.

Thank you for your update. I have done a complete uninstall reinstall and the only problem is with the Rootkit scan. Based upon problems others seem to be having I think I'll accept it. Maybe an Administrator will eventually diagnose the problem and a fix will be forthcoming. For now, I have over 400 days on my license. When time comes for renewal I'll evaluate Immunet and make a decision to maintain it or not. Thank you again.
JasonR
Hi kik, Sorry you've been having issues with contacting Immunet Support. We've been actively training new members (myself included) and you should see us more often on the forums. In regards to your issues with rootkit scans, could you please generate a support package for me using the System Diagnostic Tool (download here) and email it to support@immunet.com. It will help us diagnose the issue you're having. Cheers, Jason
