ritchie58
I use an add-on for Firefox called FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension). With this you can backup your add-ons, bookmarks, preferences, profile, etc... just in case you ever have problems with or need to reinstall the browser. I have it configured to automatically update once a week but the problem is when it updates it will freeze and not complete necessitating an abort of the backup. If I disable Monitor Program Install and Blocking Mode and then run the add-on again the update is completed in mere seconds. I would be happy to submit a SDT report the next time this occurs if you guys so desire.
ritchie58
I did try to exclude the folder that I created to store the backup files in that FEBE uses but that had no positive effect. Immunet must be scanning the backup files while they are being created, transferred or both and slowing down the extension to the point where it becomes unresponsive and absolutely will not finish. I can still use the add-on if I update manually and first turn off MPI and BM but it's a bit of a pain having to turn theses settings off and on. I'm afraid I might forget to turn those settings back on and go without that protection!
Pedersen
Have you added chrome extension folder to exclusion list? Also exclude chrome cache if you want things to go faster too.
ritchie58
Thanks for the input Pedersen. Yeah, I'll give that a try and let you know, that's if I can find the correct file paths.
ritchie58
I couldn't seem to find the chrome files you mentioned Pedersen but with a little experimenting I think I have the problem solved! I had to create exclusions with these file paths to get the add-on to work: C:\Users\AppData\Local\Mozilla and C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\extensions. A lot of people use FEBE and I bet I wasn't the first one to notice a conflict between this extension and Immunet. In order to keep the cache files from being scanned and slowing down the browser I have also placed this file path in exclusion a while ago: C:\Users\Ritchie\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles for my Win. 7 Ultimate 64bit machine.
