Triple Helix 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2010 I downloaded it and installed and I see it has the ASK Toolbar again but is not prechecked and it asks you after you install Immunet Again this post is about the ASK Toolbar and nothing to do with a great product like Immunet! I was told by Pederson that you would build your own and have nothing to do with ASK! And also why is it not in the change log? Regards, TH

Regards, TH You're absolutely right, I forgot about it in the change log. I've added now. We are building a toolbar, but until we get it complete, we are offering the Ask toolbar to help keep Immunet Protect Free a free product. --Millard

We are building a toolbar, but until we get it complete, we are offering the Ask toolbar to help keep Immunet Protect Free a free product. --Millard Thanks for the info Millard and nice to meet you but ASK is very evil and I hope when you make your own that is is not a re-branded ASK or any other Toolbar and make sure it is not pre-checked only to make money because Toolbars are frowned upon in the Greater Security Community and added to our Lists here:Products with Ask Toolbar http://www.calendarofupdates.com/updates/index.php?showtopic=16253&st=0 and here Installers Hall of Shame http://www.calendarofupdates.com/updates/index.php?app=calendar&module=calendar&cal_id=&do=showevent&event_id=44514 Sorry it had to be done I personally feel if someone wants a toolbar they can download the one they want and should not be included in security software as some other AV's will detect ASK as and threat! Again I like Immunet but not the toolbars! TH
dallas7 11 Report post Posted August 2, 2010 Hi Millard. And the whole Immunet crew, of course... Installed 2.0.14.91 over 2.0.11.3 with no issues. It migrated my file exclusions which previous upgrades did not do. The Ask toolbar selection/option dialogue is much improved. Excellent. If it's not already on your to-do list, having to deal with a license key is unacceptable. Licensing should be transparent to users who are upgrading an already licensed install. Otherwise, looking forward to your continued product development and success in the marketplace. Keep up the good work!

Somehow I put it in the wrong release bucket. --Millard

dallas7 11 Report post Posted August 4, 2010 What is the changelog for 2.0.14.99 over 2.0.14.91? Where/how can we be kept appraised of the minor .xx incremental updates? Thanks!
millard@immunet.com 124 Report post Posted August 4, 2010 What is the changelog for 2.0.14.99 over 2.0.14.91? Where/how can we be kept appraised of the minor .xx incremental updates? Thanks! 2.0.14.99 fixed a script error that only some users were seeing when loading the History page. http://forum.immunet.com/index.php?/topic/177-script-error/ Because we don't have a way to do minor revisions yet, we've been avoiding these unless there is a fair number of users are having an issue. Then I get the developers to fix it and we notify those and new users will get it on install. I don't want currents users to have to go through the uninstall/reinstall process unless they have to. To your point, I need to have a good way to have a changelog and I don't have one right now. Then I need a notification mechanism that allows them to upgrade without them feeling obligated. For now, if there are any minor releases, I'll add it to the main version release topic. --Millard

dallas7 11 Report post Posted August 4, 2010 2.0.14.99 fixed a script error that only some users were seeing when loading the History page. http://forum.immunet.com/index.php?/topic/177-script-error/ OK. I didn't notice that thread. Hence my ignorance. Interestingly, I have .99 running on my laptop as I did a clean install on that one. However, if I use run bootstrap on my .91 desktop it reports it is already running that version. So I assume .99 is only available to those who do an uninstall/reinstall. Since I'm not seeing that script error, I'll just leave it at .91. BTW, I'm thinking just a posting here in this announcement forum would suffice for keeping us obsessive compulsives updated on the incrementals would suffice. Well, thanks again for the information. Sorry I'm such a pain. Cheers!
