Does Immunet Free Run As A Service

I am evaluating Immunet Free for a service environment. I have seen that it now support Windows 2008, but can't tell whether or not it runs on start up as a service or does a user have to login.

In the past with Clam AV, the user had to login before it would load.

Hi Andy and welcome to the Immunet community, if you create an account and login once Immunet will automatically log you into the severs and start automatically at boot up if you allow it as a startup service (Control Panal > Administrative Tools > Services > right click on Immunet 3.0 > select Properties > select Startup Type: Automatic). This is the default setting after installation. The ClamAV module will also start automatically since it's been completely integrated into Immunet, if it's enabled. As long as Immunet's history.db files remain intact so should your login credentials. Three processes of Immunet need internet access to function. That is iptray.exe, agent.exe and if you use ClamAV, freshclam.exe. Allow these processes through your firewall or other security programs you might have and there should be no problems! Regards, Ritchie...

Great! Glad to hear it Andy. One other thing, are you going to be using another anti-malware product to run along side of Immunet? Immunet Free is compatible with most major AV packages. If that's the case it's important to add that software's Program Files folder into Immunet's Exclusion List located in Settings (a number of popular AV's files are already excluded by default). If you're using a third party firewall adding an exclusion for the Program Files folder for that would be recommended. Also add Immunet's Program Files folder into the other program's exclusion or safe files list as well. This will prevent dual scanning of files or any loop scanning conflicts which can have a detrimental effect on system performance. The setup I'm currently employing is (realtime protection): Comodo Internet Security (Firewall & Defense+ only), Panda Cloud Pro, Immunet Free and Mamutu. I also use Malwarebytes Free edition as an additional on demand scanner/malware remover and Kaspersky's TDSSKiller for rootkit detection. So as you can see I like to use a bit of a layered approach to my PC's security myself.
