Skudo
When Blocking Mode is turned on: In Firefox, when I download a file, Firefox will freeze. Doesn't happen with Internet Explorer. EDIT: The freezing will only happen if I click save as soon as the download box appears. (I assume it is when I click save while Immunet is checking the file (.part) during the start of the download)
Francis
Hi Skudo. Blocking mode is a feature that, if enabled, stops certain operations on your computer until the files involved in those operations have been scanned by the cloud and deemed non-malicious. When Blocking mode is off, none of your computer's operations get blocked, but instead the checking is done in tandem with the operations. Blocking mode on is safer, but does have noticeable performance drawbacks. Turning it off should no longer cause your computer to freeze.
ritchie58
Skudo, if you add this file path to Immunet's Exclusion List that will also help to speed up the browser while using Immunet. The file path for Win. 7 is: C:\Users\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles. If you don't have Win. 7 the file path will look something similar. This will exclude Firefox's temporary cache files from being scanned. Using this exclusion you should also be able to re-enable Blocking Mode without any noticeable loss of browser speed. Worth a try anyway. That's the setup I have. Regards, Ritchie...
Skudo
Thanks, BTW, what is the latest version of Immunet? Mine says 3.0.6. I thought it's in beta?
ritchie58
I just checked my version. I have the 3.0.6.8225 beta. I installed the same beta on my roommate's PC last night. I'm assuming he got the same version I did from the same link provided by RobT in Announcements. I'll check on that to be sure. You said in your PM that you have a different .8460 version. I'll PM an Admin. if one doesn't respond to this thread in a day or so to clarify but I don't think it's anything to worry about. Out of curiosity where did you download the installer from? Skudo
Well if you found any free time, maybe you could try to install the stable version offered through this site? With the downloader, not the offline installer. I would really appreciate it. BTW, any devs that reply to you? PIC: More pic: EDIT: BTW, I did not use the beta installer, I used the stable one. ritchie58
The only plausible explanation, in my view, would be that what you have installed is the final public release of the 3.0.6 version and that the beta program is over. Why no new topic was posted in the Announcements section to inform users of this fact is a complete mystery to me. A quick and easy way to check which version you have is to open the GUI, on the lower right hand corner you have Support, Feedback and About, if you mouse over the word "About" a little balloon popup appears with the version number displayed.
