soroushag
Does immunet free work with panda cloud free 1.5.2?
ritchie58
Yes they work very well together giving you more than adequate malware protection. This combination gives you not only one but two clouds protecting your PC and if you enable ClamAV with Immunet you also get off-line scanning capabilities. Panda Cloud has this too but in a limited capacity as only the most critical recent signatures are stored for off-line use. Both programs are light on system resources and won't bog your system down which is a great plus as well. Just remember to put their respective "Program Files folder" in each others Exclusion List. That way you'll avoid any dual or loop scanning and you should have no troubles! I use Panda Cloud Pro & Immunet Free myself so I'm talking from experience here. In fact I helped beta test Panda Cloud before the first public release a few years ago. Since Panda Cloud and Immunet Free do not scan for rootkits you might want to consider installing a dedicated on-demand 3rd party rootkit scanner. I use Kaspersky's TDSSKiller for rootkit detection/removal (which is freeware btw). I'd have say you can't go wrong with this trio of malware fighters in my opinion! Best wishes, Ritchie... ritchie58
No problem soroush! Glad I could help clarify things for you. Yeah, go for the Panda & Immunet combo, I don't think you'll be disappointed with that choice! Best wishes, Ritchie...
Cloud
Since Panda Cloud and Immunet Free do not scan for rootkits you might want to consider installing a dedicated on-demand 3rd party rootkit scanner. This information is long outdated, Panda Cloud does indeed block and remove rootkits in realtime. In v2.0 Panda added Behavioral Analysis in the free version. Cool, eh? ritchie58
Well that's good to know that Panda will now protect you from rootkits. I know older versions didn't but wasn't aware, until now anyways, this feature was added. Glad to see Panda made some positive changes for the free users too. Cool! ritchie58
Hi Bruce, Kaspersky claims TDSSKiller will detect all known rootkits. Kaspersky updates it's TDSSKiller quite often too. Sometimes a couple of times a week! When you run the program it will automatically search it there's a new version to download. It comes as an executable in a zip file so it doesn't take up precious HD space as a permanently installed software program would. I like that feature myself. The GUI is very simple to use and the default scan is really quick too. If you use any of the advanced scan settings you could see some false positives though. The default scan is recommended. When I install a new version I just download it to the desktop. Unpack the zip file there and move the icon to the desktop and delete the zip file and left over folder. It's that easy! Even though I found out by Cloud that Panda Cloud will detect rootkits I think I'll still use TDSSKiller as an additional on-demand anti-rootkit scanning engine just to get that second opinion so to speak. Chears, Ritchie...
