Immunet Large "tmp" Folder

The folder "C:\Program Files\Immunet\tmp" is 4,3GB large effectively filling HDD to no more free space. THe oldest files are just two days old. They can't be deleted, so are clearly open (and in use?) by Immunet - "Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use." I might be forced to restart the computer (don't know if that helps yet), but it would be lovely to be able to restrict the size of this "tmp" folder... My work involves using applications in a manner where restarts are very expensive, so this is truly a painful problem.

 

Immunet 3.0.6.8523 (Free) on Windows XP SP3. I use no other antivirus software.

 

Settings:

Monitorg Program Install: On

Monitor Program Start: On

Blocking More: Off

ETHOS: On

SPERO: On

ENable ClamAV Engine: Off

Allowe Definietion Upgrades: Off

On Detection of Malicious Files: Automatic

On Detection of Suspicious Files: Automatic

Scan Archive Files: Off

Scan Packed Files: Off

Send files to Immunet for analysis: On

Send telemetry data for analysis: On

Hi edg,

 

Would you be able to send an SDT report to support@immunet.com? You can do so by clicking on the Start menu -> All Programs -> Immunet 3.0 -> Support Diagnostics Tool. This will create a new file on your desktop with a name like Immunet_Support_Tool_[date and timestamp].7z. Attach that to an email along with the name of this forum topic.

 

This is definitely an issue and we will do our best to get it resolved. Thanks.

Also in the mean time, to free up some space, you can do the following:

 

- Open a command prompt (Start menu -> Run -> enter "cmd" and press "ok")

- Type "net stop immunetprotect" (without the quotes) and wait for the service to stop

- You should then be able to delete the tmp folder

- Restart Immunet by typing "net start immunetprotect" in the command prompt

Sent you the SDT made before the restart.

 

Before trying your advice, I tried to delete the files with Immunet still running, and was successful doing so. All files were deleted nicely.

Screenshot (see attachment) after restoring from Recycle Bin reveals that no new files were created after restart.

I've moved from Windows XP to Windows 7 in a complete reinstall. The problem persists... Used version is Immunet 3.0.6.8523 (Free).

This time I've got plenty of spare disk space, but I've noticed heavy disk IO. See attached pictures.

Sent an SDT report to support@immunet.com again.

Hi edg, the newest 3.0.8.9025 version of Immunet has done away with the issues of heavy disk I/O and RAM usage besides much better scan times and some other improvements. Is there a reason you aren't using the newest version?
