jjc225
A recent scan produced three bad files, two of which were quarantined and one which was labeled "quarantine failed." What further, if anything, should be done in this instance? Thanks.
ritchie58
Hi jjc225, that is not a good sign! It means that this particular file is locked (in use) or using a complex encryption algorithm which is a good indicator that it is malware. Most likely this malware was already in your system before you installed Immunet. That's why Immunet was unable to quarantine the threat. Click here for a Knowledge Base article on the subject. I would recommend either downloading & installing Emsisoft's Free Emergency Kit 2.0 or Malwarebytes. If you have trouble downloading or installing the software try using Safe Mode with Networking. Then run a scan in Safe Mode without Networking (press the F8 key during boot-up to enter the Safe Mode options) to remove the threat. If you use Malwarebytes don't forget to update the program before running the scan. You will also find some informative topics in the Malware Removal section of the forum. It would also be a good idea to send a Support Diagnostic Tool Report before you attempt any removal process for further evaluation of what we're dealing with. This could be of benefit to the Immunet collective. Best wishes, Ritchie...
