Two Immunet Folders?

Recommended Posts

I've got two Immunet installation folders: "Immunet" and "Immunet Protect". "Immunet Protect" seems to contain only remains of the versions < 3.0 (although there is also a subfolder "3.0", which is, however, empty); that's quite possible, as I use Immunet for quite a long time and almost from its beginning. As opposed to this the "Immunet" folder has subfolders (among others) named 3.0.0, 3.0.1, 3.05. and 3.0.8 and with no lower numbers.

Unfortunately I've got too little disc space, so I'd like to know if I can delete "Immunet Protect" without problems and losing anything important. I am not really sure; I first tried to move the folder, but Windows won't let me do anything even when doing this as an administrator - which sometimes means that the object to move is in use (no matter which kind of different nonsense the error message tells). Before I start some more determined measures in order to convince my stubborn Vista (SP2 with all patches) I'd like to be sure whether "Immunet Protect" is really only an unnecessary rest of older versions or still needed for the current version of Immunet (3.0.8.9025 in my case).

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi Ceb65,

Yes, you are correct they are all remnants of past versions and Immunet does not need them. You can remove the Immunet Protect folder as well as the 3.0.0, 3.0.1 and 3.0.5 sub-folders in Immunet, however you'll have to open up your services and stop Immunet manually (or through the command line with net stop immunetprotect) delete the folders and then restart Immunet (net start immunetprotect) as we stop any user or program from tampering with our files while the service is running. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks,
