Tetra, Why?

Hi Dave, the Plus (paid) version of Immunet does provide you with the option of using the TETRA module. You can use all modules enabled but there would be a trade off with system performance. If you are using the Plus version it is reccomended that you turn off ClamAV and enable the TETRA module instead. The same detection signatures are generally used for both the ClamAV & the TETRA modules however TETRA will detect rootkits and other forms of complex malware as well. If you're using the Free version turn on ClamAV as TETRA is not avaliable. Using either ClamAV or TETRA will also give you off-line scanning capabilities as signatures are stored on your HDD like a traditional AV. The Free version can also run along side of and compliment most major AV vendor's products. The Plus version is best used as a stand alone AV solution. Best wishes, Ritchie...

I should have also mentioned that it is highly reccomended to always leave the cloud engines (ETHOS & SPERO) enabled regardless of which additional module you use. This is your real-time cloud protection. Depending on which version you are using is relevent to which module you enable. Go with the TETRA module and disable ClamAV if you're a Plus user would be my advice.

Hi Ritchie,

How do I know if I have the most recent release of CLAM AV? This perhaps applies to the other engines as I can't seem to find the version numbers within the GUI... If it is not there, perhaps it could be added in the next update under each engine listed???

Thanks,

Dave

Any new roll-out of Immunet will include all necessary updates to the modules as needed for performance and/or efficay enhancements. Also if you have Allow Defination Updates for ClamAV enabled that will provide you with automatic updates to the module itself too I believe. Not 100% sure on that one. If I'm wrong perhaps an Administrator can correct me on that. That is a valid question though. There is no way to tell which version of ClamAV is incorporated into Immunet. You ought to post a topic in the "Ideas" section of the forum regarding this! Cheers, Ritchie...
