thecomputerdude
Hello, Recently installed Immunet 3.0.8.9025 Plus and while I have to say it works, the memory footprint is HUGE at times. "Block" mode seems to add to the issue, but even with it turned off I can go play a game and watch Immunet Agent use 300-600mb of memory. I suspect it has spiked far past that, as I can be playing a game like Call of Duty 4 (with minimal resource usage) and watch it fail due to lack of free memory after about 10 minutes. System specs: Windows 7 x64 8GB RAM 120GB SSD 2TB HDD I just restarted Agent and I'm watching it slowly but surely leak memory in 4-18KB chunks...with nothing happening besides me writing this post. It's gone from 18MB of memory to 58MB of memory in the past 6 minutes...and still climbing! It gets a few massive chunks here and there, but at no time does it reduce usage. ritchie58
Hi tcd, since your using the Plus version have you disabled the ClamAV module and updates for it? Using just the cloud modules & the TETRA module with the Plus version is recommended. Turning off Blocking Mode while gaming was a good idea. You can try and disable Monitor Program Install while gaming to see if that helps too. Since a lot of games make extensive use of temp files it is sometimes better if you add the game's Program Files folder into Immunet's Exclusion List. That way the temp files won't be scanned as they are being created by the game. Immunet has a Gaming Mode in Notification Settings too. If turned on you will not recieve any alerts while gaming. Hope this helps and let me know if the unusual RAM usage still occurs. Cheers, Ritchie...
thecomputerdude
I disabled *everything* and it still looks like Agent is leaking while nothing is happening. Just sitting at rest, no scans, no protection...gradually climbing bit by bit. Making any settings change resets the memory usage, but this baby will sit at rest until it hits ~200MB at which point it seems to reset. With it completely disabled none of my games complain about sudden memory loss, though...
ritchie58
It sounds like there is some kind of incompatibility problem with some other program you have installed. Are you using Immunet with another antivirus or antimalware software? If so it's best if you add that software's Program Files directory into Immunet's Exclusion List and do the same for Immunet's Program Files with the other software. A program that constantly writes to disk might cause this as the files are being scanned as they're being created at the same time. If that's not the case I'm at a loss as to what's causing the excess RAM usage. You're welcome to submit an SDT report to support at support@immunet.com if this continues. Info on how to create and submit a SDT report can be found in this forum's FAQ section. Regards, Ritchie...
