Feedback On Immunet 3.0

I have noticed while using Immunet 3.0 that it's agent.exe uses between 40 mb and sometime up to 230 MB. t does not use much of the CPU But I would like to see the ram usage decreased by 40-50% since it is a cloud based AV. I also have running along side with Comodo Internet Security premium (free) version 6.0.264710.2708. I think there is some conflict between the two products even though I added each products files and folders to exclusions. some system instability was noticed. You guys claim that it can work along side. I think it could do a little better. I do like it, it is good. good detection and removal of malware. i would like to see a list of malware that was found during the scan in the future so you don't have to check history.

Regards, Zurchiboy.

I updated CIS to the new 6.0 version too. I too see excessive RAM usage shortly after bootup but for me it's not Immunet causing this, it's Comodo. I believe it might be caused by the program installing new mlaware defination updates. The RAM usage does decreese to an accecptable level after the updater is finished which takes a few minutes. Also, since updating CIS I have noticed that some programs are "slow" to load now. Especially my Firefox browser which takes a long time to launch. Seriously thinking about uninstalling CIS Premium and installing just the basic firewall which you can still get from Comodo. To be honest with you I'm not to crazy about the new user interface either. The new desktop widget is pretty cool though.

CNET.com has Version 5.10 if you want to downgrade. I like the CIS 6. Doesn't slowdown my sysyem actually is faster than 5.10 on my system.

It might be that. But I would wonder why would immunet have so high ram usage while comodo updates.

I decided to uninstall CIS Premium. I went ahead and installed the newest 6.0 version of just the 64bit Firewall since it includes many bug fixes over the earlier 5.1 version. It was Comodo's antivirus that was causing the excessive RAM usage at startup as that's no longer a problem now. Plus my Firefox browser loads normally again. You still get the desktop widget with just the firewall too! That's cool!

You still get there cloud signatures as well which I think is quite nice. There have been complaints about CIS 6 being slow in the comodo forums, but people have also said that is is nice and quick and they have never and a problem with it. I haven't had any problems with it and I hope it stays like that. I do ask what settings you are using for the firewall.

First of all for the Defense+ settings I have the HIPS enabled and set to Safe mode and the Behavior Blocker is set to auto sandbox unknown applications with limited access. That way an unknown application can still run but make no permenant changes to the OS until you deem it safe and remove it from the sandbox. Great protection against never before seen malware. The Firewall is set to custom ruleset as I like to decide for myself what program gains inbound and/or outbound access. More permission popups at first with this setting but I like the added control it gives you. I have these advanced Firewall features enabled: Filter IPv6 traffic, Filter loopback traffic, Do Protocol Analysis and Enable anti-ARP spoofing. With these settings enabled some web pages may be a tad slower to load and you could see a slight increase in average CPU & RAM usage by the program but that's a small trade off I can live with for the added protection it provides. Speaking of RAM usage, I've noticed that since I do not have the AV installed I've seen a decreese of almost 10MB of RAM overall and that's with the advanced settings enabled.

I do have a question for you Zurchiboy. Have you excluded CIS's Program Files folder and processes with Immunet? That might be the cause of the Immunet RAM problem you're seeing when Comodo is updating. I have these three file paths excluded with Immunet;

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64

C:\Program Files (X86)\Comodo

C:\Program Files (X86)\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\CisTray.exe

C:\Program Files (X86)\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\cis.exe

Cheers, Ritchie...
