jaygilchrist
A quick and easy (I hope) question from a new semi-literate user. Being prone to Halfs-heimers and not always remembering what I have and haven't done, is it advisable to stay logged into Immunet or to log out at some point, then back in at some point? ritchie58
Hi jaygilchrist and welcome to the Immunet forum. There is no need to log out of Immunet once you've set up an account with the Immunet servers. Are you using the Free or the Plus version? If you're using the Plus version you should only need to enter your Plus license key once unless you update to a new version and/or a reinstall is necessary. So that's something you really need not worry about once you're logged in. Cheers, Ritchie...
jaygilchrist
Thanks, Ritchie. One less thing to worry about. I'm using, and getting used to the free version for now. I had a big bug awhile ago and had to reinstall Vista. I'm playing safe now with Avast, backed up by Immunet, with Adaware in a background position, along with Malware bytes and Super Antispyware... ritchie58
No problem jay. The Avast! & Immunet combo should give you great antivirus protection! Have you enabled the ClamAV Detection Engine and updates for it? This will give you even more malware protection & off-line scanning capabilities with Immunet if you haven't already. It's real easy to do too. Just open Immunet's interface and click on Settings. Then turn on "Enable ClamAV Engine" & "Allow Defination Updates" then click Apply and Close. After that simply click on "Update Now" on the interface to install the Clam Defs to your HDD and your done! It takes a few minutes to download and install the ClamAV definations but it's well worth the added protection! Another thing, it wouldn't be a bad idea if you put Immunet's Program Files folder in Avast!'s exclusions/exceptions list just to avoid any possible future conflicts. By default, when you installed Immunet Avast!'s Program Files are already excluded. I too like to use Malwarebytes Free as an additional on-demand scanning tool. Malwarebytes FileASSASSIN and Chameleon apps are worth installing just in case. Something you should look into and perhaps consider doing too. Open the MB interface and click on the Tools tab. You can get more info and download them from there. They have a new anti-rootkit tool too but I haven't tried that myself as I currently use Kaspersky's TDSSKiller as an additional rootkit scanner.
