Zurchiboy
Cybercriminals are exploiting the civil war in Syria to spread malware by disguising their spam email as news alerts from US-based Fox News, a security firm warned Tuesday. Bitdefender said its researchers found the emails sent by the scammers incorporate malicious links on several buttons, including "Unsubscribe." http://www.gmanetwor...alerts-in-syria I found this very interesting. Hopefully I don't recieve this type of email spam.
ritchie58
Thanks for the heads up on this new email exploit Zurchiboy. A perfect example of socially engineered malware. In other words, instead of finding some devious method to infect your operating system, browser or exploit some other software you have installed the developers of this malware rely on direct input by you using crafty underhanded ingenuity instead. Just by clicking on a link you are directed to their site where they implant the malware that way. In this case the links provided in the bogus emails.
