Guest ROCKNROLLKID
For the longest time, I had no idea Immunet was open-source, until I found you guys on sourceforge. This must have happened when you forged with ClamAV. If I would have known that a long time ago, I would have joined sooner. Many of you may know me from the old ZVL community before MBAM took over. Unfortuniently, I had to abandoned the project. My apoligies for anyone who liked my support. I am here now to help build up another open-source project and I'll provide any help I can and reopen my old malware hunters database to help fight against infections. Pedersen
Hello ROCKNROLLKID. Immunet is unfortunately not open-source. ClamAV which is designed by us is. The sourceforge page is not controlled or registered by any Immunet members and therefor not valid. The page is made by a: Antonio Milani, which I have never heard of before but if you check his account, you will notice that he have added several different applications. Thanks for making us aware ! I am sorry to say but I hope you will stay anyway best regards Pedersen
Guest ROCKNROLLKID
If you made Clamav open-source, then how come you didn't make immunet open-source, as well. You can still have your free and paid versions while getting more help from volunteer users. Seems like everyone just won there.
Pedersen
ClamAV is an old piece of code that got too clustered/outdated to be used for business. Our current Immunet build is unique and top of the notch within its field. Making it open-source would be just like if symantec made their open-source. ritchie58
"Hey ROCKNROLLKID!" Glad to see you're now a member of the Immunet forum! How have you been? Well I hope. I'm still currently beta testing MB's Anti-Exploit (ZVL's ExploitShield) at this time. To add what Pedersen stated, although Immunet is not open sourced the Free version of Immunet can be used by "anyone" including those with multiple endpoint business enviroments. Cheers, Ritchie... Guest ROCKNROLLKID
Hey ritchie. It is good to see you again. Sorry for not telling you what happened with ZVl and MBAM. If you want to know more, throw me a PM and I'll explain the situation. I don't mean to drag on your guys software here, but I am a little disappointed to find this out now. I only trust open-source software, yes I do realise I am running windows at the moment and all, but Its all restricted and cut off from internet so no worries on that. I am not saying you guys are hiding something or anything but well, it is just hard to find something good thats open source at the sametime, something like firefox. I don't trust closed software, but that is just me. Do you have a copy of a stand alone ClamAV or is it all combined now? If so, I might just have to go back to ClamWin with ClamSentinel. Sorry for the bit of drama right there.
