camachoj
Q: What is happening to Immunet Plus? A: Immunet Plus is being discontinued. Cisco is committed to a community-based approach to advanced malware for both home and personal use. It’s for that reason we will continue to provide Immunet Free, even after Immunet Plus is discontinued. Immunet Free includes real-time online protection through the Immunet Cloud including detection and removal of bots, viruses, worm, trojans, keyloggers and spyware. Q: Does this impact Immunet Free? A: No. Immunet Free will continue to be developed and supported. Q. Does this impact any other Cisco or Sourcefire security products? A. No. This announcement only impacts Immunet Plus, a consumer product. Cisco and Sourcefire products developed for businesses are not affected by this end-of-sale and end of life. Q: What are the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates? A: End of sale: June 10, 2014 End of life: June 10, 2016 Q: Can I still purchase Immunet Plus? A: Immunet Plus is available for purchase until June 10, 2014 and will be supported until expiration of license or the EOL date (June 10, 2016), whichever occurs first. Q: What if I’m an Immunet Plus customer and I still want Immunet Free? A: Immunet Plus will continue to function without the Plus features after expiration of the paid license period. Thirty days before expiration of the Plus license, the user interface will prompt customers to renew their license. It is recommended at that time that customers uninstall Immunet Plus and install Immunet Free after expiration. Q: I recently purchased Immunet Plus, can I receive a refund? A: A full refund can be requested within 30 days of your Immunet Plus purchase. Q: Can I renew Immunet Plus after the End-of-Sale date? A: No. Existing Immunet Plus customer licenses are not renewable after the end-of-sale date. Q: My Immunet Plus license has expired. What will happen to my installed Immunet Plus software? A: Immunet Plus will continue to function without the Plus features after expiration of the paid license period. Thirty days before expiration of the Plus license, the user interface will prompt customers to renew their license. It is recommended at that time that customers uninstall Immunet Plus and install Immunet Free after expiration, because license renewal is no longer available. Q: Will technical support be available after the end-of-sale date? A: Yes. Technical support will continue to be provided for Immunet Plus customers through the expiration of the paid license term. Technical support will no longer be available for Immunet Plus after the end-of-life date (June 10, 2016). Q: Immunet Plus uses some components of ClamAV. Now that Immunet Plus will be entering end-of-life, does this mean there is less of a focus on open source? A: Cisco remains committed to maintaining and developing open source projects. Immunet Free will continue to heavily use ClamAV and is already integrated for use as the offline-scanning engine. Q: Are there plans to provide another paid or premium subscription? A: No. There are no plans to develop a paid or premium consumer product for Immunet at this time.
