vishnugb
Hi!I use Immunet 3.0 (Free). It has only the 'Computer' and 'Product' panes, with the community pane just a bar on top.Screenshots of Immunet Plus 3, that I've see on this forum and else where have a third pane which is the 'Community' pane.Does this come only with Immunet Plus 3.0? If not, how do I add people to my community?Thanksphyskets
fblais
There is no PLUS version anymore, and the community thing is long gone ago. (it was not anymore in the PLUS version either) They just need to update their website...
Jose
Hi Vishnu, Just to clarify a couple of things: Plus version still exists and is supported: it is no longer sold however. And the Community panel is from Immunet 3.0 (note the '0'). We are already in versions 3.1+, and that part was removed during the transition. Cheers, -Jose
vishnugb
Oh! I hadn't realised that Immunet 3.0 and Immunet 3 were different. Any particular reason as to why the community feature was removed? Looking at the details in the website, it seemed pretty interesting. Thanks
Pedersen
It was removed because it served no real purpose. It was more misleading than useful Best regards Pedersen
ritchie58
In the early days when not nearly as many people were connected to the Immunet cloud it did serve a purpose by helping to increase the number of detections thus helping to build a much more comprehensive cloud detection database. After some time as more and more people were using Immunet and significant efficacy improvements to the cloud engines were made the My Community feature was really no longer needed and actually became rather redundant at that point. Let's not forget that the My Community feature had a number of troublesome bugs that never got resolved too. It was a "very unique" feature for an AV product though and I do still kind of miss it to be honest, bugs and all. Ah, the good ol' days ,lol! Cheers, Ritchie... vishnugb
That was some interesting history. Thanks.
ritchie58
Hi Vishnu, (interesting handle, the supreme God of Hindusim) to embellish on that history, Immunet was one of the "very first AV's" to use cloud technology! At that time cloud technology was still a toddler and in it's diapers. I had been helping to closed alpha/public beta test Panda Cloud Antivirus ( I was using a Virtual Machine during that testing for obvious reasons) for a number of months until the first public build roll-out occured. Of course I continued to use PCA . Shortly after that I discovered Immunet and was very intrigued by yet another cloud AV. Especcially since the developers were claiming that the Free version of Immunet could be used as an added layer of protection and complement your current AV solution. Immunet was out of beta at that time and the first 2.0 version was avaliable. I do believe Panda beat Immunet by just a few months by rolling out the first final public build. I then used Panda Cloud & Immunet together for years! For now I'm using just the Plus version of Immunet (until my license key expires anyway) which should be used as a stand alone AV with the TETRA module enabled. After my Immunet Plus license expires I'll surely go back to that combo again no doubt. Best wishes, Ritchie...
vishnugb
Hi Ritchie Yep. Well, one of three supreme gods, actually. The parallel operability feature is the reason I'm using it. It is something you don't find everywhere.Isn't is a bad idea to let both your AVs be cloud based?physkets
ritchie58
I've never heard that. The Panda Cloud & Immunet combo worked just fine for me aside from some past Panda version update issues while Immunet is running. Using exclusions for each other's Program Files folder is always recommended when Immunet is used as a companion AV to help avoid any possible conflicts. Zurchiboy
I use comodo internet security and immunet side by side. Comodo does have a cloud based av scanner. But it also had regular definitions. I have not had any issues. I don't think there woupd be an issue by running to cloud based avs together.
