iTrendsNET
Immunet Users - Time to check for updates. I noticed ClamAV definitions did not seem to update in the free version since yesterday. Just got home, plugged my laptop in, clicked update and noticed version 3.1.12.9665 has been released. Here is what I have noticed. PROTECTION - Monitor Network Connections is a new option CLAM AV - No longer listed in options in this version! TETRA DETECTION ENGINE (Bitfefender) Allow Definitions Updates -is now enabled in free Enable TETRA Engine - this can now be selected in free, but the enabled setting does not "stick" for me if I click save / close and then reopen SCAN SETTINGS Scan Email and Deep Scan from Plus version can now be selected in free, but again, the changes are not sticking for me if I save / close and reopen. The upgrade to Immunet Plus sidebar / advertisement is still popping up in this version. After the upgrade install from 3.1.8 free and seeing this I did a complete uninstall, deleted all directories, rebooted and then re-installed. Upgrade advertisement still is popping up. Memory use remains very low. I noticed the user count has tripled in recent weeks from the 3 million + users to now over 10 million. My guess is they have incorporated some of Immunet into newer Cisco / Sourcefire offerings and are now combining the user count(??). ** In further checking, anything I turn to on or off will not stick in the settings if I save / close and then reopen. Might just be my machine. *** Also, while it did update definitions and there is a tetra folder with some Bitdefender files, Immunet 3.1.12.9665 free clearly did not pull down any BD updates. It did, however, apparently update ClamAV definitions.
thecomputerdude
I am also having issues with the new version not keeping settings when I select them. Also, it appears that Immunet Plus is really Immunet Free now, since my license was removed (with no way to re-input) and now I'm stuck with Plus advertisements. iTrendsNET
i also have three Plus licenses that I am not currently using. Years ago, I remember having the same problem, in that after a version upgrade, Immunet would seem to loose the Plus license on me. Just send them a support ticket via the website as in my experience, they respond very quickly and will reset your license if necessary to make it work. You may want to hold off until they fix the "not keeping settings" problem as I smell another update coming.... I also noticed this new version is not showing me the last date / time the defs updated.
loskamita
Yes, I have the same problem, too. Immunet did not remember settings. recommend other user upgrade later but not now, until problem solve. I also want to know is 3.1.12.9665 and above(future version) will still be a Companion Antivirus or not?
maggifix75
Yes, me too, I have the same problems. I contacted the support over the webpage, but i didn´t get any response. In the Support windows after send I saw the redirecton to the mainpage in the Frame. Seems very buggy the Homepage for a Company. I still not recomend to update as this time. ritchie58
Your not the only ones. I saw the new version popup and clicked on it to update through the GUI and it turned out to be a complete disaster! It did not install correctly. sfc.exe would not launch properly (see image) even after several reboots and trying cmd stop, start commands and it killed my internet too. The internet connection troubleshooter was showing me an error message that my PC was not connecting with the modem after the update and that I should reset the modem which I tried several times with no results. Tried rebooting several times. No luck there. Tried uninstalling (settings saved) and the modem problem still persisted. Even tried System Restore with no change to the modem problem. Talk about weird! I unpluged my Ethernet cable from the PC and reset the modem and plugged the cable back in "after" a clean (not saving any of my previous settings) uninstall of Immunet & a reboot. That solved the connectivity problem. What I had to do to get it to install properly was first go into the Program Files directory and completely delete both folders for Immunet and Immunet Protect. Then I manually ran the installer and got it to install ok then. That's the only way I could get this newest build to install with no problems after several unsucessful attempts and hours of trying to figure this thing out. It even accecpted my Plus license key after that. I did make a Support dump before uninstalling the last time so if you guys want that sent in let me know. Funny thing is though that other build updates have been pushed through the GUI with no problems in the past. That's why I didn't have any qualms attempting this update. thecomputerdude
I did a complete wipe, reboot and reinstall and it's still broken for me and still won't recognize a license key. I tried inserting it in the install (didn't work) and I tried a fresh install after that and the application doesn't have a UI option for inputting a license key. >.<
ritchie58
When you say "wipe" does that mean you deleted the Immunet Program Files folders after a complete uninstall and then ran the installer again thecomputerdude? That seemed to work for me and was relieved to find out my LAN drivers weren't corrupted. Using my Win 7 Rescue Disk to reinstall the LAN drivers would have been my next attempt. Out of curiosity what OS are you guys running? Mine's Win 7 Ultimate x64. I think my best advice to everyone right now is not to attempt the update through the GUI until this bug or bugs get sorted out by the Development team. Just continue using the version you have installed for now if you read this and haven't tried to update. Everyone who is experiencing problems with this 3.1.12.9665 build, you are welcome & encouraged to submit a Support Diagnostic Tool Report to support@immunet.com. http://forum.immunet...ic-tool-report/

Jose
Hello, At this time we would like to announce a new version of Immunet 3 (version 3.1.13) which should resolve any issues that may have been caused by the upgrade to version 3.1.12 which was released on June 27, 2014, including interacting with the Settings page and losing access to Immunet Plus features. If you have previously performed a clean uninstall and reinstall of Immunet 3.1.12, after an upgrade to 3.1.13, you are now able to re-activate your Plus account via the Settings page. We apologize for any inconvenience that these issues may have caused you. If you are still experiencing issues with this release, please feel free to contact support@immunet.com. Thank you, Immunet Support
kelvinw4
hello, I do not have any of those new features on version 3.1.13.
ritchie58
Hi Jose, fantastic! The 3.1.13.9666 version updated through the GUI without as much as a hicup for me this time! Well, I did get new permission alerts for sfc & iptray from Comodo Firewall but that's understandable. I have to admit though I did say a "Hail Mary" before I started the 3.1.13 update, lol! "Way to go for being Johnny on the spot with this new bug fix build guys!" Immunet 3.1.13.9666 seems to be functioning normally with nothing else to report at this time. kelvinw4, as Jose pointed out if you're still excountering issues after updating please contact Support at the URL link Jose left in his thread. Best wishes, Ritchie...
kelvinw4
I haven't updated. I have just downloaded the program from the website once I saw Jose post that there was an update. I do not see any of the new features like bitdefender and monitor network connections in the settings page.
loskamita
I think he mean the detail posted by iTrendsNET, 3.1.12.9665 free version has those features, but 3.1.13.9666 free version does not have, and still have advertisement in the Gui's sidebar, seems except bug fix it's complete the same with 3.1.8.9583. PROTECTION- Monitor Network Connections is a new option CLAM AV- No longer listed in options in this version! TETRA DETECTION ENGINE (Bitfefender)Allow Definitions Updates -is now enabled in free SCAN SETTINGSScan Email and Deep Scan from Plus version can now be selected in free I want to know if Immunet will keep TETRA engine in free version in future? because it's from Bitdefender, mean it's not free, so I think it may be ditched on June 10 2016. But if it be continued, or let Free version adopt Plus version's content, is it will still be a Companion Antivirus? Because Plus version seems not compatible with other Antivirus, so please give some explain, thank you!
kelvinw4
Yes, thanks for clarification, there are some on wilders forums asking about this too.
Jose
Hi all, Just to say it once more, if you are still having issues please contact support@immunet.com. Additionally, the 'new' features were not features at all, but bugs with the User Interface. And, to answer loskamita's question about putting BitDefender in Immunet Free, the answer is that it is still on the table and we haven't made a decision one way or another in that respect. We will improve Immunet Free in the future, but this may or may not include current Plus Features (in addition to some entirely new aspects). Thank you, -Jose
fblais
CLAM AV- No longer listed in options in this version! This is very good news as far as I'm concerned!
loskamita
Jose, thank you for yours response. I will keep use Immunet no matter if it have TETRA, in personally I hope Immunet can still be a companion antivirus in future, but include other feature like deep scan, rootkit scan etc that plus version have, just like Emsisoft(they claim they are compatible with other antivirus, too), can be a complete standalone, and also a companion antivirus. And to fblais, like Jose said, those four "features" are just bugs with the User Interface in the setting, ClamAV is still in Immunet, no matter local or cloud. and I like ClamAV, although it's detection rate may not so good and has many false positive now, but it is opensource and free, with Cisco support and Immunet cloud, I think it has potential and will become more strong in future.
