Maikuolan
Hi, Edit: My apologies if I've posted this message on the wrong set of forums. I couldn't see any links to a discussion community on ClamAV's website, and searching Google, I found this community, which appeared to be the closest thing to official discussion forums for ClamAV that I could see anywhere. Of course, having post my message and looking back at my search results.. I've now found a few other similar looking discussion forums for ClamAV, which has me wondering if I might've just registered here mistakenly. Neither this community nor the others I've found specifically claim to be official forums for ClamAV so far as I can tell. If this is the wrong place for this post, let me know and I'll move on. I've been looking for answers to some questions I've had regarding ClamAV for some time now, but, having Googled and searched to no avail, I'd decided to register an account here in the hopes of getting the answers I've been looking for. Some of the questions I've got are probably very simple and straightforward and I have strong feeling have probably been asked numerous times before, though I've been unable to finds the answers to them personally and I've been finding this very frustrating, but, in any case, because I'm new here, none of you know me, and I don't want to annoy anyone with questions they'd rather not answer or questions that've already been asked before too many times.. Before I go ahead and ask, is there an actual search function in these forums to search old threads, and if there is, could someone point me in the right direction? Almost every other forum I've ever registered at has a search function, though, I can't seem to find one here - Sorry if this seems like something really silly to ask and something with an obvious answer, but, I don't know and the best way I can think of to find out is to ask. If it's at all possible, I'd like to have a quick search through - As well as potentially finding answers to the questions I've got, I may learn a helpful thing or two more, too. If it's not possible to search old threads, then I'll just go ahead and ask I guess. Either way.. Thanks in advanced for your replies. Kind Regards, Maikuolan / Caleb. Jose
Hi Maikuolan, This is not exactly the right place to post: Immunet is powered by ClamAV (as one of its several engines) but we usually don't discuss ClamAV by itself (at least not in the probable depth that you might be looking for). You probably would be aided much better by the mailing lists for ClamAV (not exactly a forum, but you can get feedback there). You can see the ClamAV mailing lists here: http://lists.clamav.net/mailman/listinfo/clamav-users Cheers, -Jose
ritchie58
Hello Maikuolan, we do have a search function on this forum. The search bar is located at the top right. Your welcome to search the archives by typing a key word or words and click on the little magnifying glass button. Next to that you can also select the Advanced Search options to change the search parameters. There is also a ClamAV for Windows section at this forum where you can search the old topics there for any possible answers to your questions. This official ClamAV site has some additional info regarding the mailing lists that you may find useful too. http://www.clamav.net/lang/en/ml/ Regards, Ritchie... Maikuolan
Many thanks to you both, Jose and ritchie58. I've bookmarked the supplied addresses (mailing lists and additional information thereof) and am reading through them now. Thanks for pointing out where the search function can be found - Of course, now that you've pointed it, I can see it, and it seems an obvious location, but, for the life of me, I couldn't see it at all before (might've been lack of sleep or just lack of clear thinking on my part at the time or something similar, but in any case, I appreciate the help). I'll probably reply to these forums again if the search function turns up anything relevant to what I'm trying to find out, but otherwise, I'll try to keep my questions and any further inquiries to the relevant appropriate medium. Kind Regards, Maikuolan / Caleb.
