Clamav File Identified As "win32.anserin.c" By Symantec

Recommended Posts

I installed Immunet yesterday. I also have Symantec Endpoint Protection. Immunet updated this morning and Symantec flagged a file as "Win32.AnserinC" .

Here is the link the the Symantec desription:

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2005-112315-0608-99

The path to the file is:

C:\Program Files\Immunet\clamav\temp\clamtmp\00000087.tmp

I scanned the file with immunet and it says it is clean.

Hi,

In order for Symantec Endpoint Protection and Immunet to cooperate their installation directories have to be added to each-other's exclusion lists. To do this in Immunet simply go into Settings > General Settings > Protection Exclusions and add the directory in which Symantec is located. Do the same for Immunet in Symantec's exclusion list.
