X Sp3: Immunet 3 Installer: Download Failed. Please Check Network Connectivity And Retry.

Recommended Posts

The Immunet 3 Installer (version 3.1.13.9671) does not work under Windows XP service pack 3.

It fails with this error:

Output folder: C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp
Extract: C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\iprdF2831AAE-7FF7-4A79-9135-1C36AC71A506.dll

Download failed. Please check network connectivity and retry.
Completed

I have received the same error for both a Dell laptop and a generic brand desktop, both running XP SP3.

Installing the old offline installer, protect-en-us-3.0.3.6870-32-tcp-policy, works fine, and can be then upgraded to 3.1.13, using the inline upgrade tool.

Hello mkienenb,

I'm assuming that your internet connection is strong during this installation. If this is the case, then it could be your firewall or other security software that is preventing your download from occurring (a similar case can be found here).

Jan

Hello everyone, just wanted to mention if using a Windows XP "64 bit platform" Immunet has not in the past nor does now presently support this Operating System. Immunet will not work with XP 64 bit.

We do not reccomend that a person use an off-line installer of Immunet because of the fact that it is possible that the code has been re-written with malicious intent. You take your chances when you use this method of installiation. It's always best if you use the bootstrapper installer when ever possible.

Well, current installer really doesnt work on wxpsp3 - tried on 3 different computers. The link to download is from this site download.immunet.com, so it should be no harm.

Hello peekaa, perhaps the powers that be decided to no longer support XP SP3 32bit. Although I have had no information regarding this change it does stand to reason that since XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, and hasn't been for some time now, perhaps that is the reason for the bootstrapper installer no longer working for this old platform. Personally I would like some clarification if that's true or not myself as I'm kept frustratingly in the dark about a lot of things that transpire unfortunately.
