Immunet Turns Off Defender

i've upgraded to windows 10, and 10 is a bit of a pain.  it doesn't seem to like complementary antivirus software in regards to their defender antivirus.  defender is now turned off with install of immunet.  so here's my questions:

 

is there a way to have immunet not register itself in the windows security monitor (or whatever its called), so it will not turn off windows defender? - or is there another work around?

 

or, is the recommended course of action to simply use another antivirus?   (i do want to use defender, despite its crappy lab results and i do not wish to justify my reasoning here).

Hi choicevoice, Microsoft designed Defender to automatically, by default, disable itself if you install another anit-malware program as you have found out. This is because Defender was designed to give users "some limited protection" if an AV is not installed or the user doesn't want to use a third-party security app. As you also pointed out, although some improvements have been made from older versions, Defender is still not a very robust security program. In my opinion you're so much better off using Immunet for your security needs. Immunet can also be run as a companion AV to most major vendors AV products! In fact a number of AV packages are already in the Exclusion list in Settings by default when you install Immunet (It's also recommended to exclude Immunet's Program Files folder in the other AV's Exclusion, Exception list as well to avoid possible conflicts). I use Panda's cloud based AV & Immunet together along with Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Premium (which I hepled out during beta testing for more than a year) as a layered approch. Personally, I wouldn't want to use Defender or trust it to keep my computer malware free.
 

Is there a workaround for this auto disable behavior? I don't think so. I've personally never heard of anything like that. So why not go with Immunet, or better yet, use it as an additional security layer with another AV solution. Here are a few other AV's that are compatible with Immunet.
