victorvmpm 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2016 Hi I have a situation while I need Immunet to run simultaneously with the existing A/V. I want to know if the license would permit such a situation in a 350+ organization. I read the EULA but really didn't found a section that prohibited it. Am I wrong? or is it allowed to have Immunet 5 in a corporate environment?
victorvmpm 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2016 I don't know if anyone else will have this question, but I got answered from support. Aparently, you can use it for free without any problem. Thanks,
ritchie58 450 Report post Posted December 15, 2016 I don't know who told you that but Immunet 5.0 is not free for a "for profit" business environment. This is included in the Terms of Use dialog box when installing Immunet. No technical support will be forthcoming if it's discovered that Immunet is being used in a for profit corporate setting. What you really should be using is "Immunet's enterprise version called AMP for Endpoints" for a multiple end-point corporate server environment. Although not free like Immunet, It's got all the bells & whistles that any IT professional would love! It will provide a much higher degree of protection compared to Immunet 5.0, is easily deployed, highly configurable and will work with your already existing security software.http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/security/fireamp-endpoints/index.html Cheers, Ritchie... huntley 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2017 It only took 7 years to make mine and all other community users fears come true. We were very unhappy when Sourcefire acquired Immunet, and now the corporate takeover is complete with Cisco. The whole point behind Immunet was that it was free for all to use as a community in what was dubbed Collective Immunity. Cisco/Sourcefire says Immunet is not free for "for profit" business environment. Precisely, exactly what we all feared. The greedy blood suckers have won again. ritchie58 450 Report post Posted May 3, 2017 Hi huntley, I had my apprehensions when SourceFire acquired Immunet too. What was to become of Immunet? The SourceFire devs did decide to no longer offer the Plus (paid) version of Immunet anymore in favor of developing an all new enterprise version of Immunet called FireAMP Connector (now called Cisco AMP for Endpoints) which is not a freeware product. Although designed to work in a multiple end-point environment it can be configured to work as a home anti-malware product as well. That's what I'm currently using.Don't forget that there is still a free version of Immunet available to whoever wishes to use it. However, it does dismay me a bit that Immunet no longer gets the resource/development attention that it once did. Just not a top priority I guess as known bugs still go unfixed. Regards, Ritchie...
