'4K' Uhd (3840 X 2160) Issues

Recommended Posts

Hi,

With this resolution (3840 x 2160) everything gets really small, but in windows 10, using scale 200% - i get (1920x1080) with very crip, non blur image ... in almost every app.

I suppose the immunet GUI doesn't yet addresses this issue ... the GUI still is really small  - even with 200% scaling.

Hope you guys can addresses this issue asap.

Regards

Hello jrego33, thank you for using Immunet. I would like to welcome you to the Immunet forum and yes the development team is aware of the UI not displaying correctly on some newer 4k screens. I'm sure this issue will be addressed in a future build. I hope that build rolls out sooner rather than later for the users that are encountering this issue!

Best Wishes, Ritchie...

I did actually mention that to another user who was encountering the same issue werk. So I beat you to that. lol! That is an option, you could temporarily lower your screen resolution down a bit if you need to use Immunet's UI.

Same here, even at 300% the window is still tiny,  the font is barely readable.  Tried compatibility troubleshooter and all the options for overriding the default scaling behavior no change. I've had a similar problem with another program that was fixed by overriding the default scaling behavior.  Good to know it's being worked on.

Thanks for your input Freelance. I believe this issue still has not been given the attention it deserves by the devs.

Obviously there's no easy solution to the UI problem and 4K screens since this issue still goes unresolved at present.

There's got to be a way to have Immunet recognize the screen resolution and adapt the UI to the appropriate size. I'm sure it would take some additional code being added to the software but it's not out of the realm of possibilities to eliminate this bug once and for all on a future build.

Best wishes, Ritchie...

I will talk to the dev's about this issue. (it's the first I have heard of it) But I am sure they have been made aware, either way- I created a bug ticket for it and will do some testing etc.

That's cool you'll let the devs know that this issue still persists Wookiee, appreciate that!

Here's an idea for a new build, perhaps add an additional toggle switch in the Settings to allow for the UI to change to the proper resolution for the folks that have 4K screens.

First, kudos to Immunet!!  Probably the best antivirus out there and has been for several years.  This is coming from an expert user with 27 years of computer experience!

Just got a spanking new Zenbook Pro with a 4k screen.  Same scaling issue as the others, its tiny!  Your coders have to get on this one asap!    Yes, we can change the res. but it's only a workaround, and 99% of users don't understand/don't want to understand, this kind of hassle. Only 2 apps that I have installed  had scaling issues so far. Yours, and a low level formatting utility from 2013!  Before you know it, 4k is going to be everywhere, so time to put this one to bed!

I agree with you Jolga77 & thanks for your compliment regarding Immunet!

As more people purchase newer laptops, tablets, GPU's and 4k compatible desktop computer monitors it seems like a no-brainer to me that Immunet should compensate/adapt to this changing visual graphics processing environment. The good news is the devs "are very aware of & are working on this issue!"

Cheers, Ritchie...

We are aware of the issue and will be working towards a fix. Though, as of right now- I have no ETA

Hi Bitsomper, I'm sure you've read the previous threads to this topic so the devs are definitely aware of the situation. Unfortunately the newest 6.3.0.10988 build did not address this known issue. Thanks for adding this thread! Maybe the devs will see this issue is still causing problems for users and "eventually" do something about it.

Immunet really needs to incorporate a way to upscale the UI for 4k screens! That is a obviously needed upgrade, that seems to be continually overlooked, that should be implemented with some new code in some future build. The sooner the better in my opinion.

I know I've posted about this before - but here is an example where we really need 4K!  I can't click on the button because it simply isn't shown.  This now comes up every time I log in because I cannot clear it.  Is there a registry entry that I can adjust?  And any news on WHEN 4k might be supported?

Hello again BitStomper,
Thanks for adding the screenshot. Wow, I can see what you're talking about! I don't think it would be a good idea to mess around with Immunet's registry keys however.

May I suggest you contact the admin Rob. Turner via Private Message regarding your issue. Perhaps Rob can better assist you further. Here's a link to his Profile page. Just click on the Message button to send a PM. Mention your newest thread to this topic or better yet add a URL link in the PM to this original topic header so he can readily view it. https://support.immunet.com/profile/1703-robturner/

Like you, I too would like to see this 4k issue put to rest once & for all!

Best wishes, Ritchie...

Apologies for re-posting this here, I have also placed it here (https://support.immunet.com/topic/2979-cant-see-screens-on-uhd4k-screen-due-to-dpi/) but feel this issue is being totally ignored and now is the time for a suitable response, it may feel OK for those without sight problems to feel I am just a complainer but I am not, in short "I just have a sight problem"...

Frankly I am disgusted with the developers of this product, their lack of attention to the issue or even a suitable explanation for their continued delay is now beyond unacceptable and can only be considered to be discriminatory.

As a user with a sight deficiency I suffer more than most, the move to a large screen with extended capabilities to adjust resolutions & dpi to suit my needs was an exciting move for myself, a move which has turned out to be great for me and produced spectacular results in the software I use visually on a daily basis, I was close to being uncontrollably ecstatic, I was additionally surprised at some of the software (even old & outdated software which scaled suitably & easily, some with only minor adjustments).

But wait a moment, I fired up Immunet and I was brought back down to earth with a crash. Despite every attempt to scale the product and thoroughly following advice the product would not scale it's external view-port (rather strangely though it will scale within it's own boundaries but obviously with each scale it hides a little more information, usually the action buttons vanish first).

This was 2 years ago, I knew that 4K screens were not widely used and I was not totally surprised, I was willing to struggle through and keep checking this website/forum giddily waiting for the next update which would surely produce spectacular results.

Alas, it is clear the developers are unable (or not allowed) to spend the time or the money investigating or implementing the required changes to code which would allow the product to be used on 4K+ screens... This is what I find to be descriminatory.

I am not asking for the improvement because I just want the software to work with my equipment so it looks good, I am asking because without it I am being excluded from being able to use it. Unacceptable.

Cisco as a worldwide Grade A company should know this, they should also know that there are laws against exclusion (The Equality Act: https://www.rnib.org.uk/sites/default/files/RNIB_and_Guidedogs_Toolkit_Equality_Act.pdf), and this applies to FREE products just as much as it applies to paid products.

A senior moderator ( maybe @ritchie58 ) should make them aware of this post, but rest assured, in due time & process I will be making their board fully aware.

Kind Regards to All Users

If you read the other threads to the topics you posted to you know the devs are "very aware" of this situation. Like I mentioned before I too would like to see a equatable resolution (no pun intended) implemented & thanks for bring up this continually unresolved issue for 4k users once again!

I did delete your one thread to the other topic since it's pretty much a duplicate response. Please try to refrain from posting duplicate or similar data in different locations in the future.

I'm sure you just wanted to get your point across, I get it. No harm done though, just a minor transgression to forum rules.

Regards, Ritchie...
