ajben
Just downloaded and successfully installed Immunet 6 on Windows 10 but doesn't want to run. Checked settings and they are the same as my Immunet 5 installation which ran perfectly. How do I roll back to Immunet 5 so that I can be confident that my compuetr is properly protected? Net
When you say "doesn't want to run" - do you mean it won't run at all, or it won't scan? On my Windows 10 machine the scan wouldn't start. It would just pop an error window saying "Your scan has failed to complete. An error has occurred". I eventually discovered that the scan will only run if there is internet access, and for some reason my firewall wasn't registering a request for that. When I disabled the firewall, the scan proceeded.
ritchie58
Hi guys, unfortunately this newest build of Immunet seems to contain some rather serious bugs when it comes to the Win 10 OS. I sincerely hope the devs are keeping track of all the new posts of people reporting that Immunet seems to no longer be compatible with Win 10. I really do wish a volunteer closed alpha and/or a public beta testing period would have taken place before this build was rolled-out just to iron out some of these bugs before final public release. That use to be S.O.P. back in the old-school days of Immunet. Since Immunet uses a bootstrapper installer it would be impossible to roll-back to an earlier version. I sincerely wish that were the case for Win 10 users until these bugs can be squashed!
Net
Another problem with v6.0.2, which may not be specific to Win 10 x64: Although I have the Admin account on my home machine, I run as a "Standard User". This is recommended everywhere for better protection against malware. ==> But - Immunet won't scan under my Standard User account, because the service won't start! And as described above it won't scan unless I completely disable "Sphinx Windows 10 Firewall Control" which is just a front end for the built-in Win10 firewall. That may be a problem with the Win10 code, or somehow with Sphinx, but it looks more like an issue with Immunet. Bad luck that I only discovered Immunet today, and the older versions aren't available. I was very surprised at the number of almost crippling problems in what I thought was a very mature app.
Unauthorized User
I came here to seek help for an Immunet 6 / Win10 x64 issue, but it sounds like it's not worth my bother? I've been unable to get the Immunet service to stay running at all. It starts, no errors, but stops after a couple minutes, for no apparent reason. Uninstalled/reinstalled twice, including a complete uninstall, with no change. Upon reading the post above, I'm wondering if the service stopped itself due to not being able to update. I have recently begun locking down my Windows Firewall settings.
ritchie58
There is a new 6.0.4.10585 version of Immunet that addresses the issues that some Win 10 users were encountering with the last build. You can update through the UI by simply clicking on the Update Now button. Here's some additional info from EugeneC regarding this issue: We've identified an incompatibility with the new Advanced Threat Prevention engine and a recent Windows 10 update. If your computer is running Windows 10 Creator's edition and has applied Windows Update KB4038788, you may be encountering stability issues with processes that are protected by this engine. Updating to Immunet 6.0.4 should alleviate these issues. You can tell if you have this patch applied by running 'winver' from the Start menu. If you see Build 1703 (15063.608), then you may be affected by the issue mentioned above. You can also check to see if KB4038788 is listed under the 'Hotfix(s)' section when running 'systeminfo' from the Start menu. hbillsmith
IMMUNET is stuck and won't let go!! I've installed Immunet using today's latest version ..10585. My platform is MS Surface Book running Windows 10 Version 1709, Build 16291.0 Insider Preview with latest Creator Update. It hangs and the process shows 'starting' but it never completes the start. I've tried to Uninstall and the uninstall fails because Immunet is not started. How do I get Immunet off my system?
ritchie58
Sorry to here you're having trouble uninstalling Immunet hbillsmith. When I have a problem uninstalling a program I like to use Revo Uninstaller. The free version works great for 32bit systems but if you have a 64bit system I would recommend you use the fully functional free trial of Revo Uninstaller Pro as that better supports 64bit systems. https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html If you're unfamiliar with using Revo here is a tutorial video that does a good job at explaining how to use the uninstaller. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kf6up9EKQ2E
Unauthorized User
It took awhile, but I see I'm still having issues. The ImmunetProtect_6.0.4 service stops, just as it did with 6.0.3. I start it, and it stops again.
