Immunet Free Or Not For Commercial?

A lot of us want to know if Immunet is free or not for commercial use. I work at a non-profit company with 30+ computers and need virus protection. We as a non-profit can't afford most pro antivirus versions out there. They're ridiculously priced. Avast discontinued their free business pro antivirus for non-profits, education, etc, so we have to remove their software from our system. If Immunet is free for commercial use, then there needs to be a way to deploy the software using an MSI package.

According to ClamAV's FAQ, Immunet is free for commercial use. This should be updated if it's incorrect info.

Thanks!

Since version 5 Immunet is not free for commercial businesses or organizations that make a profit. This info is in the EULA agreement when you first install Immunet. No one has informed me otherwise that there have been changes so I have to go with that. The information in the links you provided comes from the ClamAV team and not directly from Immunet, so there could be a discrepancy there. If I am mistaken I hope an Admin. can clarify things for the both of us!

However if you are a "non-profit" charitable or educational institution we would be happy to work with you. You will have to write your own install scripts to deploy Immunet in a multiple endpoint environment.

There is another option at your disposal, you can use Immunet's enterprise version called AMP for Endpoints. Although not free it is reasonably priced (price can even be negotiable), easily deployed, will work with your existing security software and has all the tweaks that any IT tech will love besides providing much greater security than Immunet Free. So take a look and see what you think. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/security/fireamp-endpoints/index.html

Best wishes, Ritchie...

Thanks for the info. I thought Cisco owned both entities? If not, someone should let ClamAV team know to update their FAQ. I know I wouldn't like them saying things on your behalf.

Yes, we are a non-profit organization (www.kyagc.org) and I would like to use Immunet if we're allowed in our environment. I have no issue with writing my own scripts to install. However, I wanted to know if Immunet had MSI packages or install switches to help with installation on multiple devices?

Thanks again!

Except for this forum discussion thread, is there any where on the official Immunet or Cisco website saying the Immunet cannot be used for commercial purposes? It would be useful for me to report to my team.

Besides, is there any software lifecycle or support policy for Immunet to guarantee that this product will keep releasing new version, new patches, and not get desupported within 5 years?

Immunet is currently receiving and will continue to receive, for the foreseeable future, further bug fix & improvement developmental company resources.

As Christine re-confirmed in her last thread Immunet 6.0 is not free for any profit driven commercial enterprise. No support or technical help will be offered if it is discovered that Immunet is being used in such a manner.

Cisco recommends that you use 'Immunet's dedicated enterprise version' called "AMP for Endpoints" which is much better suited for a multiple end-point business environment. http://www.immunet.com/index#commercial
