Immunet Conflicts With Mbam3 Exploit Protection - Major Browser Delays

Recommended Posts

Win 10 Pro x64, Immunet 6.6.106; and latest MBAM3-paid, no other A/V or anti-malware

I have both Immunet and Malwarebytes Antimalware 3 (premium) installed.  MBAM3 premium has an "Exploit Protection" module which can be turned on or off.

1)  With Immunet, and with MBAM3 EP enabled, Chrome browser takes 1-3 minutes to load.

2)  With no Immunet, and with MBAM3 EP enabled, Chrome loads in 1-2 seconds.

3)  With Immunet, but with MBAM3 EP disabled, Chrome loads in 1-2 seconds.

The delays are not limited to Chrome; MS Edge is also affected but not as much.  I think other apps e.g. Thunderbird are slowed too.

So - neither product seems to be 'at fault' but they are incompatible, and it would be very nice if Immunet and MB could get together and resolve this.  That might help solve other obscure issues people are reporting too.

I have also posted this in the Malwarebytes forum.

Hello Nelsonian, when ever you use Immunet Protect as a companion AV to another AV product it is important to exclude each other's Program Files folder respectively, this really does help avoid possible conflicts.

So add Immunet's Program Files folder as an exception/exclusion/allow rule for MB and do the same with Immunet by creating an Exclusion rule for MB's Program Files folder, to see if that improves performance.

Another thing that might help too is if Monitor Program Start & Blocking Mode is disabled in Immunet's settings if you see no appreciable difference after adding the exclusion rules for both programs.

BTW - I helped closed alpha (using a VM test rig) & public beta test Anit-Exploit (even before MB bought Zero Vulnerability Labs) for several years so I am "very" familiar with this app. I was awarded a free Anti-Exploit Premium life time license from MB for my efforts, something I'm rather proud of!  Needless to say, I'm still using the current stand-alone version of A-E. I knew that A-E would be incorporated into MB eventually, that was first talked about some time ago when MB first acquired ZVL and that actually was the eventual goal.

I hope that MB doesn't completely abandon all of the stand-alone A-E users, by not issuing any new updates, especially since this is a great app for people to have installed if they wish to continue to use the out-dated Win XP OS as an example of how some people actually rely on this software.

Regards, Ritchie...
