3.1 Will Not Open

I have an old desktop (Pentium III), so I am using an older version of Immunet. I am trying to run a scan, but when I click on either the listing from the start menu or the icon in the system tray, there is no response.

I was reading FAQ here, at this site, and it mentioned something about firewall (I just use Windows) and other AV programs (I have Spybot) interfering. Does anyone know what is happening? Should I just upgrade to Immunet 6?

For what it's worth, Windows is in the process of running an update, so maybe there is a collision there?

Hi VoxPop, wow, you do have an old PC! Dell Optiplex PC's are at least 12 years old and I would assume that you are using Windows XP or Vista as your Operating System.

Don't try to install version 6.0 as you do not have the system requirements plus XP and Vista is no longer supported.

Make sure that your firewall and Spybot is not blocking Immunet's processes: agent.exe, iptray.exe and freshclam.exe (if you use the ClamAV module).

If that's not the problem what you could do is try an uninstall and then use this off-line installer to reinstall Immunet again to see if that corrects the issue. http://download.immunet.com/binaries/immunet/bin/protect-en-us-3.0.3.6870-32-tcp-policy.exe

Also put Spybot's Program Files folder in Immunet's Exclusion list in Settings and create an exclusion for Immunet's Program Files folder with Spybot once you reinstall Immunet.

Normally we don't recommend using off-line installers but in your case there really is no other option.
