ritchie58
Hi all, It has been decided that Immunet will be discontinuing its services on January 1, 2024. After this date, the product will no longer be connected to our Cloud servers and your computer will no longer be protected. Please uninstall Immunet and consider a different antivirus product to continue receiving protection. * Why is Immunet being discontinued? Immunet has been available for over a decade. During this time the consumer product landscape has evolved significantly. While Cisco remains committed to contributing to global security defense through Talos threat intelligence, Immunet is not aligned with how Cisco is pursuing this goal. Interested parties can learn more about the work Talos is doing at talosintelligence.com * What should Immunet users migrate to? Cisco does not have a formal recommendation, however, there are multiple options available from operating system vendors and third parties for users to consider. * How do I uninstall Immunet? Immunet can be uninstalled via the Windows Control Panel. After uninstalling Immunet, Windows Defender should become active. * What will happen to the Immunet Forum? The Immunet Forum will be shutdown on 1st February 2024. On a personal note, I would like to thank all Immunet users both past & present for you interest in the product over the years. Kindest Regards, Ritchie...
lavamagma
this is sort of saying, sad. immunet was last good free antivirus, which is not overbearing and controlling too much. other free apps have issues, which range from data collection to being painly disruptive. even paid apps may not bring goodness. i'm not going to advertise, although this is negative comment. i may tell the antivirus app name, if someone specifically asks. that antivirus sometimes resets windows settings, which is an example of arrogant attitude. anyway, i use gnu/linux pretty much 99.9% of time, and antivirus is little simpler there, clamav is what i use there. however, in windows i need some kind of program. because adverising rule may not be that strict, could here or somewhere be a list of programs with good and bad features? although user opinions vary a lot. ritchie58
Hi lavamagma, Immunet will still work until January of next year so that does give you 'plenty of time' to choose another AV product as a replacement. If you're not sure which AV to choose you can do some research on the web & decide which product will best suit your needs. Regards, Ritchie...
