Especially if you know you were one of those affected by the Equifax breach (or one of the other recent hacks) the sooner you file your taxes the less likely that a hacker will attempt to use your stolen data to file a bogus return and end up with your tax refund in his/her pocket! Even if you're using credit monitoring or have a credit freeze that still will not stop this type of taxpayer identity theft the experts are saying. You can get a 6 digit authentication code to be used with your return as an extra security measure by contacting the I.R.S. and requesting this code be added to your return. Regards, Ritchie...
