Zulfikar
Hi All, I just posted a new blog entry on the number of blocked infections we are seeing in the field. Thought you might enjoy it! http://blog.immunet.com/blog/2010/10/21/a-look-at-user-infection-rates.html Best, Zulfikar

Zulfikar
Interesting article, as always! I enjoy reading technical stuff. Keep it coming! Thanks! I have a few other posts in the pipeline that look at different aspects of our data. I hope to get the next one put up early next week. I've otherwise been working extensively on pushing the envelope with our Spero and Ethos engines, and it's really great to see us catching new threats in the field using them. ritchie58
In the past I've known friends that refused to run an antivirus program because of not worrying about it (I don't visit porn sites so why should I worry) or claiming that it slowed their system down too much with the inevitable results of their PC slowing to a crawl, constant crashes, weird behavior, data loss or not booting up at all after being infected with malware. Some people have to learn the hard way I guess. In today's environment it would be very foolish indeed not to run, at the very least, a good freeware antivirus solution like Immunet, Panda Cloud, Avira, Avast! or AVG (I know there are other good free AV's out there other than the ones I mentioned).
