Jeffbuck
I have this annoying issue - Word starts slowly and a "Running virus scan" message appears on the status bar - well described by Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919047 BUT, Microsoft solution doesn't work. Searching on the web I find that "The virus scan message comes not from Word but from linked anti-virus software." http://www.tech-archive.net/Archive/Word/microsoft.public.word.docmanagement/2009-04/msg00597.html examples http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-3645004.php (AVG) http://blogs.chron.com/helpline/archives/2006/02/virus_scan_in_m.html (Norton) http://forums.techguy.org/business-applications/463594-disabling-running-virus-scan-win.html (Norton) http://www.wordbanter.com/showthread.php?t=63046 (Norman) I noticed this problem shortly after having installed IMMUNET. So, what can I do? Put winword + *.doc in exclusion list? Some help will be very appreciated!
Jeffbuck
- RESOLVED - I unistalled both Immunet and all Office AddInns, cleaned the registry and directory BUT the problem remains. In the END, it was a Microsoft problem. Following this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822005 and using Method 1. Now it's all ok. Immunet installed again.
