millard@immunet.com
I just found a very weird situation that I wanted to share in case others run into this issue. Basically, I opened my UI and nothing happened. I exited IPTray completely and reopened it, still nothing happened. Finally, I stopped my agent, blew away my local.xml, restarted the UI, and all I could see is the white of the Banner. Well, after fiddling around for the rest of the afternoon/evening resetting IE, creating another account where the UI showed up perfectly fine, and comparing registry values between the two user accounts, I gave up. But then I had to go to the Services control panel and I found a message: One or more activex controls could not be displayed because either: 1. your current security settings prohibit running activex controls on this page, or 2. you have blocked a publisher of one of the controls. as a result, the page may not display correctly. I started googling and found this site: http://windows7forums.com/windows-7-support/52363-one-more-activex-controls-could-not-displayed-because-either-2.html I had an extra zone in the registry [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones] with a funny character: As soon as I removed this extra zone and restarted IPTray, the UI works properly. I'm still not sure how I got the extra zone, but it's definitely something to keep an eye out for.

ritchie58
That is strange indeed. My friends who use IMP or I have never seen this anomalous behavior before. Through your hard work and diligence you did find an easy fix for the unusual discrepancy which very well may help another user who (hopefully not) encounters the same situation. To me that symbol looks like the capitol letter L. Perseverance definitely payed off in this instance. Thanks for the heads up Millard.
Guest Orlando
Ahah, I have found this problem in my test pc 2 last week (I have done a screenshot, but I have formatted), I think it was only my problem, but not now. I had many programs in these pc, they are probably tha cause of this. We could compare programs to find the problem caused by one of them (probably), send me a PM with your programs if you have much time. My solution: I format because I have also tested a Rogue on this. Orlando
